Mikey's shoulders sagged. He felt defeated. Pete squeezed his hand quickly once- twice, and turned to Gerard.

"I am dating your brother."

"Well no shit, I got that much." Gerard shot back. "How long?"

"Since spring break."

"Jesus. Why? Mikey, have you lost your mind? Has you just forgotten the type of person that he is?"

"No," Mikey snapped. "But it's different between us Gerard. He's different, I am different, and I am actually really happy around him."

"Why didn't you tell me?"

"Cause I knew that you would react like this!" Mikey was tensing up, so Pete gently circled his thumb on Mikey's hand.

"Guys, let's just quiet down-" Pete tried, but Gerard glared at him even more.
