Chapter 47

"The police are already investigating in the case," Lyon said as he entered the unit. "Fuck! It's all messed up."

"My nagnanakaw ba na inaayos pa ang bahay nang ninanakawan nila?" Sarkastikong ani ni Zeus sa kanyang kapatid.

"Bro, malay mo. He would've cleaned up this whole room if he wasn't arrested sooner," Lyon deadpanned.

"Stop it, both of you," Krypton chastised them.

"Why don't you go to the hospital to make sure everything's fine," Jho said with concern.

"Daplis lang naman itong sa akin eh," sagot ko sa kaniya. Ang kaba ko at takot kanina ay nawala na.

"What about you, Migz?" Tumingin si Jho kay Miguel na naglalagay ng ice sa pasa niya. "You got into a fight."

"Okay lang ako, Jho," sagot niya.

"Ito na ang sinasabi ko sa'yo Sky eh," sabi ni Krypton. "Dapat kasi nag-iingat ka. Did you forget to lock your condo unit?"

"I didn't. Alam mo naman na maingat ako Krypton."

"Oliver will be a here in a few minutes. There's no guarantee, Sean would come," sabi ni Cyan. "I cannot contact him."

"You don't have to come, guys," sabi ko. "Alam kong busy kayo."

"You are more important, Sky. Tiyak na mapapatay kami nina Tita, Tito at Lolo kapag may mangyari sa'yo. Besides, we ought to protect you remember?" Raphael told me.

"Phil, I can protect myself," sabi ko.

"Seriously, Sky? Kung wala itong si kambal baka kung ano na ang mangyari sa'yo," Gabriel said.

"I don't want to be a bother to you," sabi ko sa kanila.

"Someone should be with her," Cyan suggested.

"Guys, ang busy niyo. Kasasabi ko lang na ayaw kong maging sagabal, di'ba? I am fine on my own," sabi ko.

"No. You should hire a bodyguard," sabi ni Czar.

"Huwag na, guys," I refused.

"Sky, ayaw naming mangyari ulit ito sa iyo," sabi ni Jho.

"I would hire someone for you, you know," Czar said and shrugged. He then looked at Krypton.

I look at Krypton. They are both exchanging meaningful look. I don't know what it is, though.

After a while of their staring contest, Krypton sighed and averted his eyes on me.

"I agree with Czar. I think you should," Krypton said. Lumingon siya ulit kay Czar. "Ikaw na bahalang mag-hire ng bodyguard  para kay Sky. I'll let tita and tito know about this."

Wala na akong nagawa.

It's fifteen-is-to-one. Lahat sila sumang-ayon na dapat may body guard ako. After that incident Mama called me.

"You're cousins are right, Sky," sabi ni mama.

"I can handle myself, Ma," sabi ko saka napairap. Pang-ilan ko na itong pagbitaw sa katagang to?

"Ang tigas talaga nang ulo mo!" Mama scolded me.

We argued and she won in the end. Goodness gracious!

Currently, I've been staying in the house... for my safety daw.

They also made me buy another condo unit.

I wasn't even allowed to work. Or even go out alone. Kailangan talaga may chaperone. And either of my cousins are my chaperone.

Buti kung available sila. Paano naman kung lahat sila busy?!

Gods! I hate my life.

Biglang may kumatok sa kwarto ko.

"Sky, nasa sala si Krypton. Naghihintay sa'yo," sabi ng aming kasambahay.

I lazily got out of my bed and went to the living room. I saw Krypton with Ara and the Police."

"Sky, you are okay," Ara said in relief nang makitang ayos naman ako. She quickly hugged me.

"Of course, I am!" Sabi ko at napangiti sa kanya. "I have my cousins around me."

"Buti na lang at hindi ka napano! That bastard deserves to be put behind the bars," Ara said. "Anyways, nandito ang police para kausapin ka. They already traced the suspect."

We introduced ourselves before each other.

We started the conversation.

"Kilala niyo po ba ang lalaking ito?" Ipinakita ni officer Cruz sa akin ang isang litrato ng lalake.

Nanlaki ang mata ko sa gulat. He's the culprit?!

"Yes, sir," I said. "Siya iyung sinisante ko last week... no, last month... wait! I can't remember. Masyadong busy kasi ako that is why I tend to fail remembering."

"Okay lang po iyon, Miss. Ano po ba ang nangyari nang sinisante mo siya?"

"Nagmakaawa siya sa akin. Mahirap daw ang buhay nila and he still is facing financial crisis. But, still I fired him. Hindi ko kailangan ang mga taong ni simpleng instruction, hindi niya masunod."

"So that is why, he did that to you." Ara said.

"Pero paano siya nakapasok sa condo ko?" I wondered.

"Baka may inside job na naganap, Miss Arcella. May nakapasok ba sa bahay mo bukod sa'yo?"

"Yes. Iyung kasambahay na laging lumilinis sa condo ko... My friends and my family..."

"Sige po. Salamat po sa impormasyon." Nagsimula nang mag-ayos ng gamit ang officer. "I must take my leave."

"Thanks, officer," sabi ko sa kanya.

"Hahatid ko na lang siya palabas," paalam ni Krypton.

"Buti na nga lang at nadakip na iyung walang hiyang iyon," Ara said.

"Kung makapagsalita ka parang ikaw ang minolestya ng lalaking iyon ah." Napahalukipkip ako.

Liningon niya ako. "You know how I hate those kind of people."

Bumalik si Krypton at napabuntong-hininga.

"Things are cleared. Does that mean I can go out already? Tambak-tambak na siguro ang trabaho ko doon," sabi ko.

"You can already go to work tomorrow. Kapag nakarating na ang bodyguard mo," sabi ni Krypton.

"My bodyguard should expect a tough work. Babantayan niya ako buong araw."

"They would be taking shifts. So your bodyguard won't be the same person," Krypton replied.

"Won't that be too risky for her, Krypt?" Ara asked. "I mean baka may mangyari naman. Baka may sumabotage naman. There is a possibility na may magpanggap na galing siya sa security company na nagpo-provide sa atin ng security guards..."

"I see your point, Ara. But, rest assured. I know the owner of the security company. He guarantees that his men would protect Skylar," Krypton explained. Tumingin sa akin si Krypton. "Aalis na kami. We still have to take care of our wedding."

Krypton interwhined their hands.

I smirked. "Eh di, kayo na ang ikakasal!"

They smiled back. They left. Napabuntong-hininga lamang ako.

I envy them.

Dahil sila ni Ara pwede...

Kami naman ni Jared...

Hindi.

I guess I have to face the truth and stop hoping na one day...

pwede na kami.

Yes. Until now si Jared pa rin.

And... Arrrrgh!
