Chapter 37

"What will you tell Mama, then?" Walang humpay kong pagtatanong sa kanya.

"Ako na bahala," aniya.

"Why wouldn't you tell me?" I was so anxious! My gods!

He chuckled lightly. "Chill, Sky! Kung maka-react ka akala mo parang mamamatay ka na."

"I am damn worried, Red!" Sabi ko. "One wrong word, mabubuko tayo!"

"You don't really want to publicize our relationship, huh?" He breathe sharply.

"Red, what will the others think if they would know that we are in this complicated relationship?" I explained.

He wants to atleast let our very, very close friends know. I strongly disagree with it. Ang point ko lang naman ay ano naman ang iisipin o sasabihin nila kapag nalaman nila? They would just cringe at the thought of it. Be disgusted. And, not that pinag-iisipan ko sila ng masama, ayokong lumusot ang sikretong ito. Baka kasi mabigla na lang ako na buong campus na pala ang nakakaalam na kaming magpinsan ay mag-on!

He persuaded me that our friends would understand. I still said no. He is too confident na matatanggap iyon nina Riley at nina Jho.

No is still a no!

I am not planning to keep this forever.

Hindi lang talaga ako ready sa mga ganito and I think that time is not ripe yet!

"Sky, nandito na tayo," sabi niya.

I sighed and went out of the car.

Mama is in the sala watching TV.

"Hello, ma!" Bati ko sa kanya at hinalikan siya sa pisngi.

"Tita," Jared nodded.

"Thanks sa paghatid kay Sky," mama smiled at Jared.

Bumaling ang tingin niya sa akin. "Magbihis ka at pupunta tayo sa mall."

Napangiwi ako. "At this time?"

"Alas kwatro pa lang naman ah. Just enough time. Kailangan kong magpa-dye ng buhok ko. Marami na naman ako puting buhok," reklamo ni mama sa sarili.

Pinapahalagahan niya talaga ang physical image niya.

"But, Ma, may pupuntahan kami ni Jared," I blurted out.

Upon realizing, I mentally cussed at myself!

Darn it, Sky! You slip your tongue!

Nadulas na!

Mama look at us curiosly. "Saan kayo pupunta?"

I look at Jared meaningfully. Nakuha niya naman agad na kailangan niya akong i-back up.

"Ahh... kasi Tita..." He put his hands in his pockets. "Ano... may gusto po kasi akong ligawan... I want Sky to accompany me to find something for that special girl."

Mama grinned. Ako naman nagulat sa alibi niya. May liniligawan daw! May gf na nga eh! Ako.

"That girl must be lucky to get your attention," Mama grinned.

Lumawak ang ngiti ng kupal! "Of course, Tita."

"Sige. I can let you wander around the mall while nasa salon ako. I will just text you kung tapos na ako and we will have our dinner sa mall," mom said.

"Okay," I smiled at her and tried to sound as enthusiastic as possible. "I will change lang."

Ano pa nga ba ang papalitan ko. I am wearing jeans and a shirt with sleeves that is up to my elbows.
