If Only You Remember Chapter 56

Zayn's Pov:

Her phone laid on my lap. The white iPhone laid untouched. My eyes were on the small object but I didn't dare pick it up. I was hesitant. All my answers would be answered if I were to look through her phone. To look at the messages and pictures. I would finally be able to know what has been going on.

I picked up the rectangular phone. My face reflected in the empty glass screen. I pressed the home button. The phone lit up with a picture of Jasmine and her brother. My finger hovered over the unlock button. Just as I was going to unlock it, I placed the small object on the table next to me and stood up. I walked out of the room without another glance.

I wanted to believe what I wanted to believe and that was to stay out of it. Stay out of the conflict with Jasmine. I don't want to find out the truth. The truth could be ugly and I don't want things to get out of control. It's best not knowing the truth then to know it and things go bad. So I ignored finding out the truth.

I walked out of the front automatic doors and bumped into Zachary. His tall figure was much bigger than mine, his broad shoulders and muscular body. "What are you doing here and what happened to your face?" He asked. "It's make up from a contest I was at," I lied. "Oh," he chuckled. "I hope everything is okay with you and Jasmine," he half smiled. "Everything is fine."

Zachary nodded. "Great. How is she?" He asked. "Better," I said. "I'm glad she awaken from the coma," he smiled. "Me too," I said. "Anyhow, I need to get going to see my little sister," he said.

He turned around and walked through the exit I came out of. I watched him till he disappeared around the corner with a visitors pass on his chest. I slowly turned around and began walking to the parking lot with the many rows of cars. My black Zenvo was parked by the curb near a tall tree.

I jogged across the street till I reached the driver side of my car. My keys were in the bottom of my pocket; I reached in my pocket and pulled out my keys. I pressed the unlock button and opened my door. I sat down and closed the door before putting the key in the ignition and hearing the car roar to life.

I backed out of the parking space and drove out of the lot. The wheels of my car hit the black pavement and soon I was out on the rode. I drove past the many cars as I made my way back to the flat. The lads were visiting Jasmine at the hospital so I would be home alone for awhile. It is what I needed at the moment. I needed to clear my head and figure out things between Jasmine and me.

As I drove home, I couldn't help but let my thoughts wander to about Jasmine and her phone. Many questions ran through my mind. Was there something on the phone that I should of looked at? Is Jasmine messing with me? What was on the phone? Did I make a mistake by not looking at her phone? All my questions would of been answered if I have looked.

I didn't know wether or not I made the right choice by ignoring everything but what I do know is that I should of looked. It's too late now. As I pulled in the driveway, I noticed a familiar car parked across the street.

I took the keys out of the ignition and opened the car door. I curiously walked to the parked car to see someone in the drivers seat. It took me only a second to notice the familiar blonde hair. I sighed and stopped walking. She looked out her window only to have her eyes meet mine.

She quickly got out of her car and closed the door behind her. There was a moment of silence. "Zayn." "Perrie." "What are you doing here?" I asked. "I came here to talk," she explained. "Well, I'm done with talking. You can leave," I said as I pointed to her car. I turned around and began walking back to the flat. My keys jiggled and made clinking noises in the bottom of my pocket. I reached and dig out my flat keys.

My feet walked up the grassy lawn. I heard her heels clicking behind her with every step she took. "Zayn listen to me. I do not know what Jasmine had told you but what ever it is, you need to hear my side of the story," she said. I turned around and frowned at her. She stopped walking in her step and looked at me to see what I would do next.

"What is there to tell? My relationship is over with Jasmine now all thanks to what ever had happen back at the beach. Now she is in the hospital and is blaming you for it. When ever anything bad happens, somehow it always comes back to you. You are in the center of it!" I snapped at her. Her eyes widen in surprise.

"I do not need some explanation Perrie. I do not want to be involved with this anymore. All I need is to stay out of it and you should too," I said. "Zayn," she paused. She cautiously walked over to me and placed a hand on my arm. My gaze was on the ground. I couldn't help but find the small pebble more interesting as I tried my best to ignore this situation. I ignored eye contact with her but she placed to fingers under my chin and made me look up at her. Her blue eyes glistened with emotions such as sincere and sadness.

Her eyes traveled down and looked at my lips then back up in my brown eyes. I was curious to know what was going on. Before anything else could have been spoken or done, she placed her soft lips upon mine. I stayed frozen in my spot for a moment.

Before I knew it, I felt myself kissing back.
