Chapter 5 Why Genocide?

Sans sat down next to me, I glared at him, why don't you just kill me and get it over with? Or are you just worried about frisk? Sans just looked at me then said Heh, nah, you're harmless right now, but if you hurt anyone you're gonna have a bad time. Anyways, I had a few questions for you while I have the chance, oh right you'll be sleeping in my room, I'll take the couch Chara sighed fine, ask away, not really much else to do anyways.. Sans looked toward the kitchen to make sure papyrus didn't burn anything then looked back and asked So first off, if you can't fight, why didn't you reset? Chara glanced at him confused not only at him, but at herself, of course that might work she thought to herself and gathering up determination she looked in disbelief no reset button only continue. Chara groaned and slumped against the couch in defeat, Sans chuckled. Heh, it's not that bad kiddo, maybe you'll learn some good things while we wait for frisk to wake up

I cheerfully called THE SPAGHETTI IS READY! SANS! HUMAN!

Third Person

They both got up and went to the table Chara just stared at the plate in disgust it looked like it was made of plastic and didn't look very edible but the look on Sans's face told her she'd better try it, she took a bite realizing it wasn't as bad as it looked, albeit, edible, but not bad tasting she gave a thumbs up to papyrus which made him beam with pride, I'M GLAD YOU LIKE IT HUMAN! Interrupting Paps Sans cut in, we're gonna go to grillby's Paps, Sans said, and before they could answer he grabbed Chara's hand and teleported in front of grillby's, chara fell face first into the snow dizzy from the sudden teleportation, she stood up and glared at Sans annoyed that she had to tag along with him everywhere. They walked into grillby's, everyone greeted sans cheerfully and Sans just waved back. Chara thought to herself, so this is why he mentions grillby's before he dies? Then shook the thought out of her head,

Sans

Hey grillbz 2 ketchup bottles and... What would ya like kid, Burger or fries?

Chara

I overheard sans, snapping out of my thoughts immediately and replied that I would like fries, Grillby nodded going behind the counter for a bit, Sans turned and looked at me again.

Sans

Hey, why do you always wanna do a genocide run, I'm curious. She looked at me confused and then started to laugh loud enough that everyone could hear her but no one paid any mind she then looked at me seriously, because I hate everything she replied coldly, not noticing a tear start rolling down her face I noticed it and wiped it away taking both myself aback as well as her, we both turned away from each other.

Third Person

Grillby came back with their food seconds after and they ate in silence Sans decided against teleporting and they walked back into Snowdin Sans was wondering what she had been crying for when she had such a serious look on her face when she said that, he sighed out loud and looked over at Chara who was still looking down while they were walking she looked up and saw him looking at her and frowned, What? Gonna make fun of me? She asked no kid, just curious what made you cry at that moment. Chara looked down again obviously bothered by this then got in Sans' face I wasn't crying! I don't know where that tear came from! I don't wanna talk about this anymore! She huffed and walked a little faster than Sans to try to avoid him till they got back to Snowdin.

Chara

I stomped upstairs and laid on Sans's bed frustrated I pondered why that tear had shown, all I know is hate so why at that moment had I felt sadness? Getting more and more frustrated as I thought about it, I fell asleep.

Sans

I couldn't help but wonder what was going on, I was happy the nightmare was averted for sure, no fight button, no reset, but something wasn't right, Frisk was unconscious and Chara didn't have anything to do with it, I sighed and passed out on the couch mulling over my thoughts once more.

Third Person

What happened to you in your past, Chara? Sans mumbled in his sleep
