--Melissa's POV--
I walked out of my chemistry class talking to one of my friends.
"Hey Mel isn't that Ethan and Jessica?" She said. I looked over and it was Ethan talking to Jessica and you can tell she was flirting with him. He wasn't even pushing her away... So I just walked passed them without looking at him or her.
"Where's Ethan?" Grayson asked me
"With some slut..." I replied looking down
"What do you mean?" Maddie asked
"He's talking to Jessica and she all over him and he isn't doing anything about it" I rolled my eyes
"Nah somethings not right" he looked at me
"Nah I don't care" I spat "sorry..." He pulled me into a hug. I wanted to cry so bad what's going on
"Hey guys" Ethan said coming up behind us. I looked at him and he looked at me confused
"Thanks gray" I whispered and walked away
--Grayson's POV--
"Babe?" Ethan said as Mel walked away
"Bro what the hell" I looked at Ethan
"What?!"
"You know what!" I yelled at him. Mel was like my baby sister and I won't let anyone not even Ethan hurt her.
"Let me explain!" I didn't want to hear him
"Nah it's gonna be some bull shît you come up with" I grabbed maddies hand and walked away.
"Babe calm down" she said putting her hand on my shoulder but I moved it away
"How do you want me to calm down!? He's gonna hurt my baby sister" I yelled
"She's not your sister" she looked down
"Well I see her as that" I scoff and walked away from her
"Gray!" I heard her call but I ignored her.
--Melissa's POV--
I was walking out of my 6th period and yet again I saw Ethan and Jessica together. She was all over him and it made my blood boil. First Avery and now Jessica. (I feel bad cuz if gray was born a girl his name was gonna be Avery lmao sorry gray)(you know what Imma slap the shit out of you they don't care if you feel bad) I walked home and didn't look back.
I was sitting on the couch when I got a text
Unknown- hey slut Jessica here wanted to tell you to back off Ethan is mine'
I ignored her and went back to what I was doing. The doorbell rang and I got up.
"What?" I looked at Ethan
"Hi to you too?"
"what do you want Ethan?" I was getting annoyed
"I can't see my girlfriend?"
"I don't know you didn't see me at all during school, started to think you forgot about me" I crossed my arms
"I'm sorry" he looked down
"E I think we need to take a break and to think through all this" his head shot up to me
"W-what? Your b-breaking up with me?" His eyes started to water
"No just a break" a tear trickled down my cheek
"If that's what makes you happy.." He smiled at me with tears rolling down his cheeks, he walked over and kissed my forehead. And with that he was gone. I sighed and looked at the ring he gave me. God it feels like it was yesterday we just met.
--Ethan's POV--
I'm such an idiot. I had someone..And now I lost her... "Just a break" kept playing in my head over and over again. I got home unlocked the door and ran up to my room. I laid down on the bed and started crying. I've never cried before.
"E what's wrong?" Grayson came in
"She...she said she wanted a break.." I said through my tears
"Well you were with Jessica and completely ignored Mel. It pissed me off and I even got mad at Maddie. I haven't talked to her since. That was a dick move bro" he sat down next to me
"Let me explain why..." I began explaining
--Melissa's POV--
I was sitting at home with Maddie watching tv.
When I got a text from an unknown number.
Unknown-Melissa Johnson??
Me-um who is this?
Unknown-Jack! Jack Dail!
When he said his name like that I was instantly reminded of the first time me and Ethan met...
I quickly changed his name and texted back

I didn't feel like texting with emotion

I sent him my address and turns out the party was tomorrow.
"Who you texting" Maddie looked up at me
"Jack"
"Dail?!" She said
"Yeah..." I was confused
"He's my cousin!"
"What?! I didn't know me and him have been friends since first grade!" I sat up crossing my legs
"No way!" We started talking and I told her about the party
--Grayson's POV--
I really feel bad for Ethan. He was trying to protect others and got hurt in the process. He's been locked in his room for the past hour or so and he won't come out. Mel should really hear him out. Why can't these bitches stay away from them. I mean obviously they are meant for each other. Let's just hope everything turns out right. I'm dragging Ethan to that party tomorrow wether he likes it or not. Maybe Mel will be there.
