--Melissa's POV--
After my encounter with Ethan I went upstairs to my room and practice piano. I haven't played since we moved here. I sat down and took out my sheet music to "Skinny Love" by Birdy. I started playing and doing vocal warm ups. Then I started singing-
Come on skinny love just last the year
Pour a little salt we were never here
My my my my my my my my
Staring at the skin of blood and crushed veneer
I tell my love to wreck it all
Cut out all the ropes and let me fall
My my my my my my my my
Right in the moment this orders fall
--Ethan's POV--
We were all sitting in Mason's room when I heard a piano and faint music playing.
"Hey where's the bathroom mase" I asked him
"Down the hall last door to your right" he said focusing on the video game
I got up and walked out. The music kept growing louder and louder till I stopped in front of the door where the music was coming from. I opened the door slowly and rested on the door frame watching Mel playing her piano and singing. Luckily she had her back to me so she couldn't see.
I told you to be patient
I told you to be fine
I told you to be balanced
I told you to be kind
She suddenly stopped and I could hear her voice crack in between the words she sang. She covered her face and started to cry. I stood straight about to walk to her when she stood up and looked at me. She quickly wiped her tears.
"U-uh Ethan what are you d-doing here" she said trying to cover the fact she was crying.
"Um may I come in" she gestured to her bed and I walked in "what's wrong"
She came and sat next to me "it's just...my dad used to sing it to me before he...passed"
My heart stopped. I would have never guessed if she didn't tell me. She was so cheerful all the time.
"I'm so sorry Mel" I looked into her eyes. She looked back at me and I saw the tears well up in her eyes again. I hugged her and she hugged me tight sobbing into my chest. After she stopped crying she looked at me
"I'm so S-sorry I got your shirt wet"
"it's fine" I said. She looked down and I felt so bad. It hurts to see her like this. I lifted her chin with my thumb and looked her in the eyes.
"Your beautiful" I whispered. She blushed and leaned in. I started leaning in I was so close. Our lips were about to touch when someone knocked on the door. I let go of her as she got up to answer.
--Melissa's POV--
I opened the door and saw Kenzie. She came in to my room and hugged me.
"Baby why are you crying?!" She said then looks at Ethan on the bed "hey E can I talk to my bae here for a sec"
"Sure" he got up and hugged me one more time
Me and kenz sat down on my bed
"What's wrong babe" she said wiping my tears
"It's just I got emotional when I heard this song my dad used to sing to me" I said looking down playing with my fingers
"Awww I'm sorry babe" she said hugging me
I looked at her "your a great friend" she looked at me and smiled
"When my girls are sad you know what I do?"
"What?" I replied confused. She slowly leaned in
"Uhhhh" I looked at her "I'm not that sad" I stood up
"It got your mind off of it didn't it"
"Hey can you sleep over I need a friend" I totally ignored her
"Of course babe" she said
We got changed and fell asleep
