                --Melissa's POV--
"E I'm scared"

"Baby girl your gonna do fine you have an amazing voice"

"Yeah but in front of so many people?!" I walked to my bed and plopped myself down

"Your gonna do great" he sat next to me. A month ago my school told us we were having a contest. Not just any contest but a singing contest. And obviously everyone persuaded me to sign up. And tomorrow was the concert.

"Come on sing it again" everyone and I mean everyone, the cheerleaders and football players were all sitting on my bed. I was shaking if I can't do it in front of them how will I do it in front of the whole school. I started singing

I finished the song and everyone was clapping. I blushed and sat next to Ethan.

"Eh wasn't that bad" Ethan chuckled. I glared at him and looked back at me phone

"E!" Jasmine yelled

"I'm just kidding! I love you baby girl!!" He tackles me on the floor and everyone started laughing

"Ethan!!! Get off you hippo" he didn't answer instead he attacked my face with tiny kisses. Everyone was laughing. He finally got off and my whole face was wet. I washed my face and came back to my bed

"You washed them?! Who said you can?! Ok I'll give you new ones"

"No! Please" I ran out of my room and Ethan started chasing me. I ran to the backyard which was a stupid move.

"Well well well what do we have here" he says getting closer to me

"No! Please" I giggled almost falling into the pool. Eventually everyone caught up to us

"Maddie!"

"Sorry girl I can't"

"Gray?! Jas?! Someone" before anyone could respond Ethan picked me up and threw me into the water. So I decided to play a trick on all of them. I floated up to the surface but didn't move.

"Ethan?" I heard Grayson say obviously scared

"Mel?!" Ethan jumped into the pool and picked me up. I stayed limp. He was pushing on my chest

"Mel wake up!" I still didn't move. Everyone was screaming. I felt Ethan's lips on mine trying to blow air into me. I grabbed his neck and kissed him all over his face.

"Oh my god! You scared me!" He screamed and hugged me

"I'm sorry I had to" I laughed so hard everyone was sighing and hugging me

"Ok guys I didn't die or anything let go of me the queen needs her space" I got up and strutted inside

"Such a diva" I heard Grayson whisper

-concert time-
I peaked outside and saw everyone in the seats my mom, Mason, the twins and their parents, all my friends, and my aunts, uncles, and cousins! Oh god I'm gonna faint

"Ok first up Melissa Johnson!" I heard the lady say. I walked onto the stage and everyone started clapping.

"Whenever your ready". I held the microphone and looked at Ethan. He mouthed i love you and winked at me. I started singing and it felt so good

I finished singing and everyone started clapping. People were standing up and whistling

"That's my baby girl!" My mom screamed

"Go Mel!" All my friends yelled

"We love you!!" I felt like I was famous

After about five more contestants it was Averys turn. She looked at Ethan and winked to him. I looked at Ethan and he had a disgusted look on his face. I wanted to laugh so hard. She started singing

She finished and walked of strutting her ass that she doesn't have. People were clapping but not as much as they did for me. She passed me with a evil smile.

"Ok can we have all the contestants on the stage"

We all walked on the stage one by one. I stood there waiting for the judges. They were whispering to each other. They were finally done

"Ok in third place...Lea" people clapped and she was given her prize

"Second place.." I crossed my fingers hoping I had at least gotten second place. I saw all my friends holding hands hoping. "Avery"

"What?! No! I should be first!"

"Security!" They came and took her off.

"And first place goes to..." I wanted to die this ambition was building up in me "Melissa"

Everyone stood up screaming. All my friends ran onto the stage hugging me and congratulating me.

After everything everyone came back to my house. I ran and hugged my cousin that I haven't seen In a long time

"Chelsea I missed you!"

"I missed you too!"

               --Ethan's POV--
I walked up to Mel and saw her with her cousin.

"Hi I'm Ethan"

"I'm Chelsea" she said biting her lip

"Ummm nice to meet you...babe can I talk to you for a sec"

"Oh y'all are dating?" She said looking kinda mad

"Yeah almost a year now" I held Mel by her waist as she put her head on my chest. We walked away and went to her room.

"Did you need something e?"

"Yeah I wanted to give you your present"

"For?"

"Winning silly" I laughed

"Oh I don't need a present! You talked me into it I wouldn't have done it without you!"

"No no I want to" I walked to her closet and came back with a box.

"Here open it"
