.Frank's POV.

Once we were far enough away from Gerard's house, he slowed down and let go of my wrist.  I stumbled a bit on the pavement, trying to regain my balance.

"Oh my god. Oh my god. What do we do? Frank where can we go? He- he saw you with me, you aren't safe!" He said,  his chest heaving with panic. "He's going to tell my parents and they're going to kill us!"

I grabbed the taller boy's shoulders and directed him to face me. "Gerard, please, calm down. Just, breathe for a minute okay?" This seemed to quell the dark haired boy's fears momentarily, and his head fell to rest in the crook of my neck. "I'm... Sorry, Frank. I just don't want to lose you. I can't." His voice shook at the end.

"Hey, Gerard, it's okay." I said as I wrapped my arms around his waist. "Why don't we go back to my house and figure out what to do from there, yeah?" I heard him sigh, and he lifted his head to meet my eyes. "Frank... We can't go back there. Mikey knows who you are, he knows where you live, and he knows you're with me. That's the first place he'll look." At this, I felt a small twinge of fear. "What about my mom?" I asked. He shook his head, "She should be okay. I mean, they wouldn't kill her. She's human, and she's not involved with, well, me." Gerard gave a halfhearted laugh.

I sighed. Partly out of relief for my mom, and partly out of the hopelessness of our current situation. "Alright, what happened has happened, and we need a plan of action now. We need a place to go." Gerard closed his eyes for a moment, seemingly collecting himself. Finally, he spoke. "I've got some money. We can get a motel room for the night."

Luckily, there was a motel not too far from where we were, and didn't have too far to walk. Once we (meaning Gerard) had paid, we showed ourselves to the room. It was small, with cheap wallpaper, an old tv, a couch and... One bed. After surveying the room I glanced at Gerard, who's cheeks were faintly tinged pink. I coughed, trying not to laugh at this sight. "I can take the couch." I said, walking towards it. I sat, and heard the springs creak loudly. As soon as I did so, all the events of the day hit me, and I felt exhaustion wash over me.

I heard Gerard shuffle over towards the bed and flip the light switch, turning the overhead light off, then a small lamp on. There was some more rustling, and I felt a slight blush rise to my cheeks as I realized Gerard was taking his jeans off. C'mon Frank. Now isn't the time to think like that. I scolded myself mentally. He then crawled under the covers, so, careful not to steal a glance at Gerard, I took this opportunity to slip out of my jeans as well. Moments later, the light was switched off and we were engulfed in darkness.

I was so tired, I almost fell asleep before I heard a quiet whisper. "Mm?" I groaned. "Did you say something Gerard?" I heard him clear his throat lightly, and then, "Uh, yeah. I asked if you, um, wanted to come sleep in the bed. I mean, the couch doesn't look very comfortable and I'm the one who got you into this mess after all and also I'm just really kind of freaking out right now and I-" He rambled breathlessly, until I cut him off. "Course, Gerard." I said, as I got up and walked over towards the bed. "You sure this is okay? I mean... I'm fairly sure neither of us are wearing pants." I asked, half kidding, half serious. At this, I heard him laugh softly. "I'm okay, Frank. As long as you are." Even concealed by the darkness, I couldn't help but to bite my lip, trying to hide the smile creeping onto my face. Without another word I slipped under the covers, careful not to touch Gerard. I really didn't want to stress him out more than he already was.

After a couple of minutes of lying in silence, I felt him roll onto his side to face me. "Frank?" "Yeah?" "You know I've never, uh, shared a bed with anyone before." He said, embarrassment evident in his voice. "Me either." I responded, a little confused.

Now that my eyes had adjusted to the darkness, I could just barely make out Gerard's face, about a foot away from my own. I could see his eyebrows knitted together, as if he were trying to make a decision. Finally, he shifted closer to me, and I could feel the temperature around me drop. Because of this sudden change, I couldn't stop the shiver that ran through me. "Oh, no." He mumbled, not missing this. "I'm sorry I shouldn't have, I'll just-" He instantly withdrew to where he had been laying a moment ago, and turned his back towards me. "I'm sorry, goodnight Frank."

Before I could really stop and give it any thought, I rolled over so we were cuddling, forcing myself to adjust to the cold shock of his body as mine pressed against his back. I slipped my arm over his waist and found his hand, lacing my fingers through his. We were both sharing a pillow now, and the longest strands of his hair were close enough for me to smell his shampoo.

Once the cold was less noticeable, I snuggled even closer to him. "Is this okay?" I asked for the second time that night, as he hadn't said anything or even moved yet. "I didn't uh, kill you all over again, did I?" I asked, anxiously waiting for some kind of response. At this, he snorted, and I felt him relax. "No, no. I'm okay. Thank you, Frank." He said, his voice just above a whisper. I smiled again, nuzzling my head into the crook of his neck.

"Oh, hey Frank?" He asked like he had just remembered something important. "What is it Gerard?" I responded curiously. "Are you... wearing vampire boxers?" At this, my eyes shot open in horror, remembering the little cartoon Draculas adorning the boxers I had chosen that morning. "Geraaard!" I wailed. "Now I am gonna have to kill you!" I laughed, grabbing the pillow from behind me, and whacking him with it. It hit him with a soft thump, and he looked a little shocked. Momentarily concerned I had somehow hurt him, I asked, "Are you okay? I didn't think-" but before I could finish my thought, his surprised features changed to a mischievous grin, and I was assaulted with a fluffy pillow, the sounds of Gerard's laugh following seconds after. I couldn't help but join in, and soon we were lying facing each other again, arms and legs all entangled.

Breathing a little harder than normal, I sighed happily. Gerard's eyes flicked towards mine, and a serious, almost intense expression crossed his face. I started to ask what the matter was, but before I could get a word out, Gerard moved forward and pressed his lips to mine. My eyes fluttered shut, and my heart skipped a beat as I felt Gerard smile into the kiss. "We're gonna be okay, aren't we Frankie?" He whispered, still so close I could feel his lips brushing against mine. "Course we are." I responded, tilting my chin up slightly to continue the kiss.
