Chapter 30
"Kasintahan Ko Siya"

Anna's POV

"Are you sure?" I gave the waitress a confused look. She informed me that the Ambrosia is now free of charge, no need to pay anything. I think the promo is only available with that particular dish and I'm not sure if it was for everyone or just exclusive for me. Her next words answered my inward question.

"I'm one hundred percent sure that it's free, Miss Anna," She said. "We've been told by the chef that you're free to order Ambrosia as many as you like without paying anything. Perhaps it was the benefits of being the champion. No one has ever beaten you until now, yes? There are few students who wanted to snatch the title away but as expected, they always fail. I just can't understand how you manage to eat a dish that spicy."

I smiled a lopsided smile. I liked the idea of receiving my favorite dish free, but it bothers me a little that the chef was behind all this. Still, thinking of it makes me happy. It's not that I can't afford the dish. It's about the sense of nostalgic. It feels like I've been eating Ambrosia I once knew all over again.

Since the waitress is consistent with the offer, I agreed. I reached out for the paper bag as I nodded my thanks.

The cafeteria was full of people today. It's an unusual sight to see since all of the classes were now done. There's this particular group of students crowding in the middle of the cafeteria. I think it has got to do with the enormous banner plastered on top of the school entrance gate. There are different kinds of poster similar with that banner scattered around the campus.

Obviously, they won the championship game. All of the students continued to give their appreciation and greetings to the team; the scene that I'm seeing at the moment. They seemed to celebrate the victory of the team inside the cafeteria.

I noticed a familiar face within the noisy group.

So Rumia's back eh?

She noticed me staring and gave it back with a raised eyebrow and a grimace. I ignored the hostility and continued walking.

At least she's not bothering me anymore. Good news for me.

I took a glance at my watch and saw that it's already five minutes before six. I looked up to the sky. It was still not dark, considering the time. Looking up at the sky triggered my mind to travel back with the earlier events together with Miel.

It was still shocking to think that the chat guy with a beautiful voice and Miel that I tried so hard to avoid were one. It was an unexpected event, considering how it turned out in the end.

Speaking of him, I tried to ignore him again. Why, you ask? Because he triggered something inside me. I can ignore him, yes, but not the reaction of my heart whenever it concerns him. I'm uncertain of it, I tell you. All I know that it's not good for my heart.

Just like now.

Remembering the warmth of his fingers brushing at the side of my face is making my heart throb. Remembering his song is making my eyes sting. I have no idea why. Perhaps it was the concern. I was just touched with his concern. Nothing more. I really wish it was just it.

I tried hard to drift my mind into somewhere else besides him.

But I know it's impossible.

Especially when...

He's in front of me now.

Smiling.

"Yo!" He greeted me with a small wave of his hands and his usual smile.
