"Well you can't have me." I snapped. The sly grin that was on Katherine and Craig's face seemed to grow.
"C'mon we're family." Craig said.
"We were family until you started abusing me. Then you became the son of a bitch who my mother married."
"Tsk tsk. Watch your language missy." I turned my head around, to see if anyone was coming. The border patrol should have noticed that a human was on the land. They would not have attacked unless the human made a move to harm them, but yet just redirected the person out of the territory.
Five other people emerged from the shadows and surrounded me in a cliche circle. I jumped and shifted in mid air, charging and attacking one person at a time. Some of them must have been rogues, because at the sight of me in wolf form they to shifted. One particular brown wolf, latched on to my hind leg and started to pull. It hurt like a bitch but I pulled through. As I kicked him with my other leg, I grabbed onto a grey wolf and snapped his neck.
I had no idea where all of my fighting skills had come from, since River had never formally taught me. There was only one wolf left and I could tell that it was a female; Katherine. I was planning on not attacking her but she came at me first.
She dug her claws into my side and bit into my flesh. I let out a long howl of agony and continued to whimper. Suddenly a long pow rippled through the air and Craig, who was just standing there, fell to the ground with blood running down from his face.
I whipped my head around to find two large wolves charging in my direction. However that was a fatal mistake. Katherine pounced on top of me and bit into my neck. I could feel the blood seep through my fur and I knew that the white splotches I had covering my back would no longer be white.
Both of the wolves had dark brown fur. One I recognized as River and the other I assumed was Alex. Alex ran straight toward me and tackled Katherine off my back. River padded over to me and shifted.
"Shit. Shit. Shit." He muttered with a panicked expression on his face. A whimper escaped my mouth and that seemed to snap River out of whatever daze he was in. He placed his hands on my wound and applied pressure. But it was to late, I had lost to much blood. Darkness consumed me and all the pain vanished.

River's POV:
Ellie's wolf form went limp in my arms as Alex and I were running to the pack infirmary. Once inside nurses and doctors came to my side and stole Ellie from my arms taking her to somewhere unknown. "Beta," A young girl named Tristan shouted. She hurried to Alex's side and grabbed his hand leading him away, but before he was totally gone I heard her say "Morgan is in labor!"
I was standing there staring off into space, covered in my mates blood until Jonathan burst through the doors.
"River! Is she okay?!" He asked once he got to me.
"I-I don't know. They took her from me w-when I-I got here." I stuttered.
"Alpha," My third in command, Caden who is also a doctor, said as he came toward me holding a white envelope.
"This was in her pocket. It's addressed to you."
"Is she alright?" I took the envelope from his grasp.
"Mark whisked her into surgery, but I think she'll be fine." Caden remarked and then ran back to my mate. Hastily, I tore into the letter anxious to what my mate had to say.
'River, if you're reading this letter than something has happened to me. I know you said not to worry about Craig, but how can I not? He's coming and there's nothing we can do to stop him. That's not the point though. I had a gut feeling about Katherine. I knew that you thought highly about her so I didn't say anything. But I have to tell you, she's a bitch.
If I don't make it I want you to know that I love you and Ezra so so so much. I don't want you to mope around if I die. Have a damn party. Get drunk, have some fun for me. But in all seriousness, if I do die, I want you to look for other love, give Ezra a brother or sister. Be happy.
       Love, Ellie.
I put my face in my hands as tears crawled out of my eyes. 'She's gonna be okay. She's gonna be okay.' I kept chanting in my head. If I wanted Ellie to be okay then I needed to stay positive.
Three hours later Mark came back out and sat next to me and a smile graced his lips.
"You can see her now."

HELLO!!! lol. I think I had to much soda today. BUT WHO CARES ITS SUMMER! I'm trying to have as much fun as possible in the week I have before Band Camp. So that being said I'm going to the beach this week, so my updates may be a little sporadic and crazy.
