It was a cool night, but the number of stars above them all made up for it.

Zephira was laying on her back, looking at the stars contently.

"Aren't they lovely?" Came a voice.

She turned to see Bofur. "Yes, they are."

"Mind if I join you?"

"No, no." She patted the ground next to her.

He smiled kindly and lay down.

They lay in silence for a while, then finally Bofur said, "Y'know, I can't help but notice that you've... You've seemed to... /improve/."

"In what way?"

"You know. You haven't had an... Incident in a while."

"You mean I haven't gone off my rocker and yelled at anyone in a while."

"If you want to be indelicate, then yes."

She twisted her lips in thought. "I've noticed it too."

"Do you know why?"

"No. I honestly have no idea."

"Really?"

"Really."

"Hm,"

"Do you?"

"Do I what?"

"Have any ideas?"

"Well... No."

"Liar. Tell me."

"... Perhaps someone here has made you... Has helped?"

"... Oh,"

"Is that... Plausible?"

"I don't know."

He cleared his throat. "Um. They told me not to mention this, but they lads sort of... Mentioned to me... Your history..."

She closed her eyes. "Of course they did."

"Are you mad? Er, angry?"

"Me? No. Surprised that they lasted this long though."

"Really? You aren't upset at all?"

"No. I just don't want Thorin to know."

"Why?"

She sighed. "He'd never let me live it down."

"How do you mean?"

She rolled to face him. "Me, the emotionless, cold-hearted, Zephira was once in love? With an elf?"

"I see your point."

"So, don't tell him, alright?"

"I wasn't going to."

"Good. Thank you."

"Not a problem."

They stayed there, until Bofur grew too tired.

He bid her goodnight and went over to his sleeping bag.

She stayed there by herself for a long time. Everyone was asleep but her and Gandalf.

She got up and walked over to where he was. "Thank you." She said.

"Whatever for?"

"Helping me sleep."

"Your welcome, my dear."

"Also for that first night, in Bag End."

He raised an eyebrow.

"Thank you for listening to me."

"If you are referring to when you spoke to me in my mind telling me to tell everyone I knew you and invited you, then you are welcome." He smiled.

She grinned as well. "Yes, I was referring to that." She paused. "Maybe... Don't tell anyone that either."

He chuckled. "Not a word." He winked at her, and she sat down beside him.
