And our world came crashing down

"ok guys lets play a game !"aliya exclaimed

"what game ?" cabir asked

"truth or dare ?" dhruv suggested

"nah ! something else..." mukti said

"two truths one lie ?" nandini asked

"what's that ?" asked manik

"uhmm see its like a test of how well you know each other , see I'll tell you three things about myself two of them would be true but one of them is a lie and then you figure out which one is a lie but there's a catch whoever guesses wrong they'd get punished " nandini explained

"sounds interesting " navya replied

"great then I'll start so you guys get it " nandini said

"great then i'd guess !" manik exclaimed 

"so manik 1. when I was 3 I fell off my bed and got a hairline fracture  2. I snore in my sleep when I am tired  3. I can't cook"

"you are a horrible cook so that's true" he said and she hit him playfully 

"you do snore when you're tired , so the hair line fracture one was the lie obviously !" he said and she nodded 

"well that's cheating nandini , you gave it away ! he sleeps next to you every night obviously he knows when you snore and when you don't" cabir mocked 

"perks of being a good boyfriend " manik mocked back

"ok my turn and you ma'am have to guess" he said pointing at nandini 

"oh bring it on !" she replied

"ok so 1. I can touch my nose with my tongue 2. when I was in school , during football finals I made the winning goal  and 3. I have never kissed any other girl except you" 

"you were in the basket ball team honey , so the football one is the lie !" nandini instantly replied

"wow that was quick nandini ! but seriously manik you've never kissed a girl except her !" cabir mocked

"well the wait was worth it !" he said winking at nandini while the rest hooted and just then nandini's phone started buzzing 

"its Aryaman !" she said excitedly and went in the room to talk

"what !" came nandini's voice from the room 

"how ? when ?" she yelled in a cracking voice and manik ran into the room to find a crying nandini on her knees and her phone broken near the wall 

"nandini ? kya hua , why are you crying ?" manik asked worriedly as he held her in his arms 

"manik dad ...." she sobbed harder

"what happened to your dad nandini ?" he asked cupping her face 

"dad ...hospital..." she stammered between her sobs and he kept kissing her hair to calm her down while their friends walked in and manik signalled them to stop 

"ok nandini shh now tell me is uncle fine ?" he asked politely kissing her eyes

"dad ko heart attack aaya hai , manik mujhe unke paas jana hai abhi , please do something " she sobbed harder clutching his t-shirt in her palms 

"I'll do something , ok babu . please stop crying " he comforted 

"cabir please find out about the earliest flight to London and guys abhi tum sab jao i'll look after her " manik said while he kept rubbing her shoulder and caressed her hair to calm her down but she kept sobbing while everyone left 

"nandini listen to me , he'll be fine , do you think he'd be happy to know that you cried so much because of him , no right ? then please don't cry . My nandini is stronger than this !" he said kissing her temple every now and then 

"manik I want to be with dad , he used to hold my and when I would be getting injected , he used to cure all my scratches , he used to cry whenever I winced in pain , today he needs me the most and I am not there with him , I want to be with him !" she whispered in a cracking voice 

"shh its ok , he'll be ok " he cradled her in his arms carrying her to the bed 

"he won't leave me like mom , would he ?" she asked sobbing like a kid 

"no nandini ! don't you dare think of that !" manik scolded 

"he's my only family manik , I can't lose him !" she managed to speak between her sobs 

"dont worry nandini , he's a strong man , I know it ! he'll be fine by the time you get there " he said caressing her forehead and manik's phone rang 

"han cabir bol " he answered

"manik kal shaam se pehle koi flight nahi hai " cabir informed

"fine just book them !" he said 

"ok , manik is she fine now ?" cabir asked

"no yaar , I dont know what to do ?" he said with a tear rolling down his cheek 

"I cant see her like this" he said wiping his tears 

"be strong and just try to console her , I cant say anything else , we cant imagine what she might be going through " cabir said

"yeah i am , i'll talk to you later bro" he said and ended the call as he walked back into the room to find nandini curled up like a ball still shedding tears

"nandini please be strong " he whispered as he held her close and she hid herself in his chest 

"how can I be strong manik , my father is my strength , without him I'll die " she sobbed

"don't you dare say that ! you are my life , I can't imagine you being hurt !" he yelled and she hugged him tighter 

"he wont leave me right , promise me !" she mumbled

"no he wont nandini , he will be fine and healthy , he's going to live a really long life until he's really old and grey , he will be there to watch you becoming one of the biggest singing sensations , he'll be there to bless us when we get married , he'll be there at every step you take , I promise !" he replied and she took a deep breath to control herself from crying 

"I don't want to be without dad manik , I dont want to live with another guilt on my chest that would never go away ......" she mumbled but this time she wasn't crying 

"let it out nandini , dont live with this burden on you chest , I'm here to listen to you .."

"mom died saving me , I was there watching her die and I was so helpless...."
