TLH2: Chapter 31

"May energy pa pala ha." Natatawang sabi ko. "Sige na, akyat na kayo, ako ng bahala sa mga gamit."

"Are you sure, babe? Ipaakyat mo nalang sa maid" Ivan.

"Yup and no need. Kaya ko naman. Go on."

"Just call someone to help you with it." Habol pa nito. 

"Kaya ko na nga. Sige na." Natatawang sabi ko.

Ivan smiled at me bago ito naglakad papunta sa hagdanan. I turned around to look at our things. Konti lang naman iyon. Dahil yung ibang mga gamit ay iniakyat na ng mga maids. I picked up Ivo's travelling bag nang biglang may lumapit sa akin. 

"Babe?"

I turned to Ivan and was about to speak when his lips crashed to mine. Nanlaki ang mga mata ko. It took me seconds to realize what was happening. It took just a couple of minutes before he breaks the  kiss. 

"I love you babe! We love you so much!" Ivan said ecstatically.

"Anong me--"

"Daddy, come on! Faster!"

My eyes widened when I saw Ivo standing near the door papunta sa beach. Later did I realize what just happened. Sa isang iglap ay nandoon na din si Ivan at agad kinarga si Ivo pero bago ito lumabas ay kinindatan pa ako ni Ivan. 

Ivo giggled and said. "I love you, Mommy!"

Napanganga ako sa mga nangyari. Ang bilis ng mga ito at hindi ko namalayan na wala na pala akong tinitignan sa may pinto. Aba! Baliw talaga tong si Ivan! Dinamay pa yung anak sa kalokohan. Ugh! Naibaba ko yung travelling bag na hawak ko at napaupo nalang sa sofa. Napa-iling ako. 

"Hayaan mo na yung dalawa masyado lang excited."

Napalingon ako sa nagsalita at napabuntong-hininga. "Nakita niyo pala 'yon, Dad"

Dad chuckled at naupo sa tabi ko. "Actually, napadaan lang ako at iyon pa ang naabutan ko."

"Hay nako, Daddy. Si Ivan masyadong iniispoil si Ivo." I rant to Dad like a kid. 

Napangiti si Dad. "That's how a first time Dad feels. Gusto mo lahat ng anak mo binibigay mo. In Ivan's case, I know he wanted to do more for Ivo. Matagal din silang hindi nagkasama."

I sighed. "I know that but ayoko lang mawili si Ivo. Baka masobrahan lang."

Dad didn't respond kaya napatingin ako dito. Nasa malayo ang tingin nito. "Dad?"

"If we could just turn back time, I would do the same as Ivan did. I would spoil you too when you were little because you and Ethan are our first born. It's just that I never had that chance to treat you like a princess, Erin."

 What Dad said made my heart melt and my eyes misty. I saw the sadness in his eyes. 

"Daddy.."

Dad looked at me and smiled bitterly. He puts his hand on mine. "It hurts for a Father to not at least took a glance at his princess. Alam mo ba na nagtatalo pa kami ng Mommy mo noon? She wanted a boy and I wanted a girl but I know whichever comes, mamahalin ko pa rin kayo ng sobra but when we knew that you were twins and a boy and a girl, you don't know how happy I was. Mas masaya pa ako sa Mommy mo." Nagkatawanan kami ni Daddy. 

"But, then that night happened and it was the worst day of our lives. Nawala ka sa amin pero ngayon na andito ka na, you don't know how much I wished for you to be a kid again para naman hindi nasolo lahat ng Kuya Ethan mo ang mga naibigay namin sa kanya na dapat din sa'yo."

May tumulong luha sa mga mata ko at napayakap ako sa Daddy ko. "May rason kung bakit nangyari 'yon, Dad. At kahit ano naman mangayari, pagbaliktarin man ang mundo, kayo pa din ang Daddy ko. Hinding-hindi na yun magbabago."

Dad caressed my head. "I know sweetheart, I know. And it's all in the past now. Let's just make new memories while we can."

Napahigpit ang yakap ko kay Daddy bago ako humiwalay. "Oh, bakit umiiyak ang prinsesa ko?"

I chuckled and wiped the tears. "Masaya lang po ako. And Daddy?"

"Hm?"

"I'm sorry kung nung nakita niyo ako may pamilya na ako. "

"Shhh.. that's okay, Erin. Whatever happens to you, tatanggapin ko. You're my daughter and that'll never change. And no matter what, you and Serene will always be my princess kahit na may mga apo na kayo."

Natawa ako. "Yes, Dad. Kahit maputi na buhok ko, I'll still be your princess. I love you, Daddy."

Dad smiled and kissed my forehead. "I love you too, princess. Always."

Ivan's POV

"Mommy, look! I found a shell!"

I heard Ivo said when he reached Eunica who's standing at the porch. She looked at the shell and patted Ivo's head before he went inside. Our eyes met and the way she stares? I know what is it. Napahawak ako sa batok ko but I managed to smile at her. Nang makalapit ako....

"Hi." Magiliw na bati ko.

Naningkit ang  mga mata ni Eunica. "What was that?"

I sighed. "I'm sorry, babe. Pinagbigyan ko lang si Ivo. You know I can't resist the kid."

She rolled her eyes. "Whatever, Ivan. You're spoiling him too much."

"I'm just giving him what he wants. I'm the Father." Katwiran ko.

"And so you're saying I'm not giving him what he wants? I'm the Mother." 

"It's not like that, babe. Gusto ko lang bumawi kay Ivo. You know how much I wanted that."

Parang natigilan si Eunica at hindi agad nakapagsalita. It seems like she remembered something from the way she looks. Lumapit pa ako dito and put my hands on top of her shoulders. 

"Eunica?"

She blinked three times bago tumingin sa akin at nagulat ito ng sobrang lapit na ng mga mukha namin. "Hey, what is it?"

"W-Wala. May naalala lang ako. "

"Are you sure?"

She smiled a little. "Yes."

I returned her smiles. "So, are we forgiven?"

Biglang nagbago ang ekspresyon nito at inirapan ako. "Ewan ko sa'yo." 

I chuckled and kissed her on the cheek.
