TLH2: Chapter 37

Erin's POV

We were both crying. I feel sorry for Ricky. He doesn't deserve to be treated this way. He is a good man. And I don't want to take advantage of it. Which is why I only respect him as a friend.

He held my hand that's holding his cheek and kissed it firmly.

"You will always be in my heart, Erin." Malungkot na sabi nito while wiping the tears on his face.

He stand from his seat at sumabay na din ako. Huminga ito ng malalim at napalitan ng ngiti ang mga mata nyang kanina pa namumula sa iyak.

"Tama na nga 'to, love. Ang drama na natin." He chuckled softly but I can still see sadness on his eyes.

"Ikaw kase. Bakit ka ba iyak ng iyak?" Maktol ko.

He laughed. "Eh, ikaw kase masyado mo akong sinaktan!" Biro nito habang tinusok yung dibdib nito.

Natawa nalang ako sa ginawa nito. And we both laughed. Alam ko deep inside nasasaktan pa din ito. He's just hiding it to ease the tension between us. Nagulat ako ng bigla akong niyakap nito.

"One last hug, love. Before I let you go." Nanumbalik ang lungkot sa boses nito.

I returned his hug. At naramdaman ko naman na humigpit ang yakap nito sa akin. It took us minutes before he released me.

"You are a good man, R. You deserve the same love that you are giving me. And I wish, someone will fill that gap in your heart. "

He smiled wryly.

"I don't know. Masyado kitang mahal kaya hindi ko alam when can I move-on from you. Ouch--hey!"

Pinalo ko ito. I rolled my eyes. "Akala ko ba tama na 'tong drama na to?"

Natawa ito. "I'm just lighting things up." Pero sumeryoso ang tingin nito. "But seriously, how will I find someone like you again?"

Akmang papaluin ko ulit ito "Hep-hep! Joke nga lang ito naman." Pigil nito sa akin.

"You will find someone new. Someone better, R. Trust me."

Tinitigan lang ako nito at ngumiti. He stretched his arms na ikinagulat ko.

"Ah! I think I need a vacation." Sabi nito habang nakatingin sa kawalan.

Sumunod naman ako dito. "Matagal ko ng sinasabi sa iyo yan. Puro ka kase trabaho." Natatawang sabi ko dito.

"Y-Yeah. I think I'll do that now. Para maka-move on sayo." Sabay peace sign nito.

I just looked at him. I know kahit nagbibiro ito, he meant to say those things pero hindi ko na sasabihin sa kanya iyon. We've said enough already.

"But, seriously R. I meant every thing that I've said to you. You will be happy, not now, but soon, and you will thank me for it." I said while looking intently through his eyes.

There's a pang of hesitation but he just smiled and looked at the view.

A moment of silence reign over us, he looked at his watch and his brows raised.

"Oh, it's getting late na, love. Let's go home. Ihahatid na kita."

Napalingon naman ako bigla sa wrist watch ko and nanlaki yung mga mata. Oo nga! Hindi ko na napansin yung oras.

"Yeah, let's go" Pag-sang ayon ko rito at lumakad na kami papunta sa sasakyan nito.

It took us over an hour to get home. Akala ko parehas lang kami mananahimik ni Ricky, but to my surprise, ang dami namin napag-usapan. Parang walang nangyari confrontation na naganap sa amin kanina.
