Giselle POV:

The weekend came and I was dreading it. Every day that passed was just one day closer to Rose leaving for France. I know she'll only be gone for a few days at the least, but that doesn't stop my stomach from dropping every time I think about it. I don't want to be separated from her.

Speaking of Rose, I decided to call her.

"Ellie! I was just thinking about you." Rose's cheerful voice said through my phone after a couple of rings.

"Hi, Rose," I replied, just as cheerfully.

"What's up?"

"Not much... Can you come over?" I asked. I heard her sigh.

"I'm sorry, babe, but I'm going over more stuff for my trip, there's some scheduling conflicts that I need to take care of."

"Oh," the line was silent for a few seconds.

"I wish you could come with me, you know I do."

I nodded, then realized that since I was on the phone she wouldn't see.

"Yeah," I spoke softly.

"The french paparazzi would eat you up and spread rumors about who you are and why you're with me. They won't leave you alone, I don't want you to go through that. It's terrible," Rose explained.

"I know, we've been through this," I said, defeated.

"Giselle, you know I'd do anything for you. Anything at all, but when it comes to risking your privacy I have to draw the line." She sounded a little annoyed.

"Rose, I get it. I'm just sad that I won't get to see you," my voice cracked a little. I need to women up, it's not like Rose is leaving forever.

There was muffled talking in the background on Rose's end.

"Rose?" I called after a few seconds that had passed with no response. I tried calling her name again after a few seconds.

"Sorry," Rose finally answered, "I have to go. I'll call you later."

"Oh... Yeah, sure. I'll talk to you-" I stopped once I heard my phone beeping signaling that she had hung up.

"Great," I said to myself and plopped down onto the sofa in my living room.

There was a slight pain in my chest. She seemed annoyed with me. She's most likely stressed out because of her trip and me constantly bringing it up.

She's probably tired of me and my constant neediness, I thought.

I figured this would happen at some point. I needed to get away, relax for a few hours, and clear my head.

It was almost noon and my mom was still sleeping, I guess she had a long night. She had gotten up earlier to check on London then went back to bed. I left a note for her telling her that I would be out for a while.

I grabbed a light coat and my car keys. I saw the black car across the street for the first time since Rose had pointed it out. The lights inside the house were off and I couldn't see inside the car because of the tinted windows it had. Seeing it reminded me of Rose. My lips automatically curved at the thought of her then my smiled faded as I remembered our phone call from earlier.

Hoping in my car, I connected my phone to the car's Bluetooth stereo. Rihanna's "Stay" began to play as I drove through the city. The only thing on my mind was Rose as I sang along with the song. "Not really sure how to feel about it. Something in the way you move. Makes me feel like I can't live without you. Yeah, it takes me all the way. I want you to stay."
