Three days have passed, and Jack was still not his usual self.
He wouldn't talk to you as much, he wouldn't even look at you!
You were just kind of stuck in your own bubble by now.
You thought you had messed everything up, even if he said otherwise.
You just wished that everything could go back to normal.
Currently it was breakfast time, which meant, well, breakfast!
You and Jack were sitting on your own beds, away from each other, quietly eating your meals.
You glanced over at Jack, noticing he had gloves on.
He has been doing a pretty good job at hiding himself.
But, honestly, you were sick of it.
After Jack finished his meal along with you, you both were still on your beds, sitting quietly.
Jack was just scribbling on a piece of paper with some crayons.

"Jack, I'm tired. You've been hiding something from me. What is it?"

Jack froze, and placed his tools down.

"Nothing." He simply answered.

You didn't buy it.
You stood up from your bed and stomped over to him.
You were becoming frustrated and annoyed.
But, you kept your calm.

"Whatever it is, I promise I won't laugh at you." You said, placing a hand on your chest.

"Won't you be scared either?"

"Huh?"

"Exactly." He breathed out.

You scratched the back of your furry ear, while slightly rocking back and forth.
You sighed.

"I promise, I won't laugh, be scared, or run away."

Jack kept quiet and sat right up on the edge of his bed.

"...Promise?..." He murmurs softly.

"Would I ever lie to you?"

Jack sat still for a bit before gripping the hood of his hoodie.
He seemed to be hesitating allot.
He slowly pulled his hood down, revealing his now slightly darker brown hair.
He looked up, revealing his gray skin and pitch black...Well, those weren't even eyes!
You took a step back, being a bit startled.
He looked away, quickly pulling his hood back up.

"I know. I'm a monster. Laugh, or whatever. Do whatever you want." He huffed.

Blinking a few times, you went back in front of him.
He kept his head low to the ground.
You gently placed your hands on both of his cheeks, lightly lifting his head up.
His hood fell off, and his face seemed to be in confusion.
You stared at his...black...holes?
No spark of happiness, no nothing.
These were nothing alike to those blue eyes you used to see.

"You're not a monster. Why would I laugh? You're my friend, Jack."

He blinked.

"I'm a freak. Why would you even be friends with me?"

You let out a short laugh and remove your hands from his cheeks.
You grab your furry tail and hold it up a bit.

"Well, then, I guess we're both freaks!"

His lips curled into a smile as he let out a small chuckle.

"I guess we are."

"Best Friend Freaks for life?" You grinned, curling your hand up into a fist and holding it up to him.

He chuckled once more.

"Best Friend Freaks for life." He fist bumped you.
