{Ethan}

We were on the couch, laughing and talking about what I had missed on when the door opened.

"Mom, dad, we're home." The voice of a tired boy whined, before falling silent and the sounds of foot steps came rushing in like a dust devil.

"ETHAN!" They were about to hug me before they suddenly halted, looking at me with unreadable expressions.

By the looks and sounds of it, the twins were going through puberty, Winter's voice cracking and becoming deeper. Summer was going through 'the phase', becoming more self conscious and stuff, obvious by her choice of baggy clothing.

"Ethan?" Summer's voice sounded worried as she placed a hand on my shoulder.

I smiled and gently hugged them.

"I'm back." I kissed their heads and ruffled their hair.

They began to cry, wrapping their arms around my neck and sobbing loudly.

This is how it should be, me with my family.

My parents had then told me that I needed to go find my mate, that I was making them wait too long.

I hesitated, but then they practically commanded me to do so.

So what did I do? Meet the Alphas and their son, Romeo Vela. They had greeted me with smiles, and then had approved.

And here I was. Driving to the pack I had left oh so long ago to make up that promise that I would visit again.

~*~

I have been driving for hours, and finally, I had ended up at the edge of the territory.

I had parked in the area provided, outside the territory.

With a false ego to rival the gods, I strolled in, ignoring the scouts. One of them, however, had decided to lunge at me. With fluid looking movements (although that wasn't how it felt like), I had the full grown wolf pinned to the forest floor, a smile on my lips. Show no weakness.

Though the movements were painful because of the injuries, I had managed well to hide it. Since I wore black long sleeves and loose fitting blue jeans, I looked like an everyday human, one that could shift. And was an Omega. Well, still is, but I didn't let it affect me. Much.

"Alpha!" One of the younger scouts had acknowledged the presence of the powerful male behind me.

"What is the business you bear with my pack?" Oh shit, his voice got hella deeper, and he matured. Damn.

"Oh, I'm just visiting a certain some one." I said with an obvious smile, feeling excited to talk to him again. His eyes narrowed.

"With whom, may I ask?" my smile grew as I stepped forward, ignoring the warning growls the wolves threw in my direction, which simply bounced off of me.

"How long has it been? Ten years? No.... Thirteen. Well in that case, long time no see, Alpha Ellis." I grinned, slightly bowing to him.

"I do not follow?" He asked, confused as ever as he stepped out of the shadows.

His dark blonde hair was now a light honey that shone in the sun, skin glowing a healthy tan, and eyes glowing a dark amber. Oh shit, is that a chiseled jaw?

I have competition.

Though he may be thirty one, and I may be twenty four, I still looked much more hot than he will ever be, but he was pretty good looking.

"Thirteen years ago. Your Omega friend had run away. Well, sorry for not visiting. Marine life can be difficult." I smirked as his eyes widened and he rushed over, pinching my cheek and poking my body, making me wince slightly.

Yep, I was taller.

"Is that really you, Ethan?" I chuckled at his awed and shocked voice.

"In the flesh, barely, but in the flesh." He gently hugged me, rambling a bit as he then pulled me to the pack house.

"You have so much to catch up on." He smiled and took me inside, my nerves bunching and stiffening.

Around me, people lowered their heads. I recognized some as my past tormentors, but I relaxed when I knew they could do no harm. One reason being that they were ashamed, and the other reason, would be that I would break their fist before it even landed on me.

"Ellis, you told me to remind you when the Alpha coronation happened. It's now." Hayden swaggered in, but then froze when his eyes met mine.

I growled in a dark tone, recognizing my main threat from back then.

"Ethan, calm down. He isn't the same from back then. He beat himself up after you left." Ellis spoke slowly like he would a child.

I growled a final time before turning my back on him.

"Come on, Ethan. I need to go to the coronation, and I wanna bring you along." I suddenly felt nervous, but masked it between a charming smile.

"Alright then. But, can I ask for a new shirt? I kinda got it dirty when I pinned a scout." I blushed in embarrassment before taking off the dirty and somewhat ripped shirt, revealing the slightly bloody bandages that warped my body.

"Ethan-"

"The hell happened?" Hayden cut Ellis off, staring at my chest and my arms.

"Three grenades." I answered stiffly, watching Ellis leave momentarily before returning with an extra t shirt.

"Sorry, I don't have long sleeved." He watched me painfully slip the shirt on, wincing every now and then.

"It's fine. At this point, I don't care. I winced as I realized the shirt was too tight. A sudden wave of unmistakable pain shot through my system, making me take the shirt off in an instant. The pain was still obvious in my chest, as blood seemed to stain the bandages quickly.

I started mumbling something under my breath to calm myself, the blood stopping. "Guess I'm going shirtless." I chuckled dryly, handing him his shirt back.

The bandages acted as a shirt for me, covering most of my skin except my hands and neck up, and stained red in some places but it didn't matter. The only thing I was wearing other than that on my torso, was my dog tags that jingled as I walked and caused them to hit each other.

Hayden watched me in remorse before Ellis gestured me to follow him, the previous man stepping behind me.

I looked down and smiled at the young children running freely in front and behind us, racing to get out and darting between our legs. They seemed genuinely happy and safe. I was glad they didn't have to suffer as I once did.

"We're taking my truck, jeep, if that is fine with you?" Hayden told me from behind. I nodded slightly and then followed him, reaching the blue jeep and climbing into the back.

"It's nice to be in a jeep like this. Not one made for combat or heading into the battle field." I commented, crossing my legs and watching as the others begun to get ready to go to the allied pack lands.

I'm not sure why, but I had a feeling this visit would completely change me, and I didn't know if that was a good thing.

This is bad, I need to fix this later, but it will have to do since I can't do much between band practice
