Marcos ordered food for us, eventually convincing me that the grilled chicken sandwich was to die for.

I sipped some orange juice as I stared at the chicken. Marcos, Hollie and Jared looked at me with expecting eyes.

I took the sandwich into my small hands, gripping it firmly as I held it to my lips. My nose divided and identified all the spices used for the rub, a small smile forming. I took a bite and stayed silent as I chewed slowly and savoured the flavour.

I made a small sound of enjoyment, my eyes watering as I ate like I haven't in a while, which is true.

"He likes it." Marcos smiled as Hollie laughed.

"Nope. He loves it." Jared corrected, smiling at us before leaving.

I finished the chicken sandwich as mother and father finished their own portions.

I'm not all used to calling them mother and father, but I was willing to learn and adapt. I did feel at home with them, I would be damned if I had to leave and not miss their parental figures.

"Come on pup, you have to formally meet the Alpha." I smiled at him before standing up, picking up the trash and throwing it away, leaving our area without a speck of dust. Jared came and ruffled my hair, leaning down to my height.

"I'll see ya' later, puppy." He grinned and hugged me before leaving us. I hugged Hollie, looking up at Marcos as he quickly paid and lead us to the car.

I entered the backseat and noticed a dropped mirror in between the seat cushions, quickly retrieving it. Before I could return it to Hollie, I couldn't help but glance at my reflection. My eyes became wide and empty, shocked at what I saw.

My silvery green eyes gazed at my forehead. My black hair, now cleaned and restored to it's former glory covered what looked to be a diamond mark. I knew what it meant. I knew it was a birthmark at first but truly, it is something much greater.

I quickly hid the mark with my medium length hair, hiding my expression with a smooth and titanium mask, smiling softly.

"Mother, I am assuming this is yours?" I handed her the hand mirror, watching her smile and beam with happiness.

"Thank you, Ethan! I thought I lost this!" She looked at herself, then looked at me. "I would hug you, but...." She gestured to the awkward way she would have to twist.

I nodded understandingly, looking out the window where the scene now was just a blurred line of forest.

It wasn't long until we stopped in front of the pack house, my eyes widening.

If I was in wolf form, my tail would be between my legs and my ears would be flush with my skull.

"It's huge...." I mumbled, climbing out as I stared at the grey and light green house, blending perfectly with it's surroundings. It didn't rise above the tree line, which seemed to be yards up, and the windows were somewhat matted so there wouldn't be any reflections that would cause curious campers or hunters to wander. I knew that the windows were still clear to look through, and I saw a shape of a blurry figure move within the largest window pair.

"Well this is the pack house. The Alpha is inside waiting, so let's go, okay?" I nodded and let him lead me through the confusing pattern of corridors, my eyes drooping slightly. I rubbed against the wall every now and then so I could find my way back if necessary, staring around the halls that seemed to go forever.

I found myself staring at a large, arched, double doorway, the handles elegantly standing out on the dark oak. Marcus opened it and bowed, along with Hollie, then gestured me in.

I looked at him, fearful as I stepped on the transition from cream colored tile to dark red carpet. I was wearing only socks, which I was most comfortable using because I could feel vibrations a lot easier, and I could 'feel' the softness of the carpet. The door was shut behind me, and I could feel footsteps walking away, my fears becoming true.

They were leaving me.

"Don't worry, pup. They are only going to the living space." I looked up and my gaze landed on the Alpha's red and brown gaze, seated at the big leather chair. His oak desk was littered with papers and a small lamp, the only other thing being a picture of Leon (Alpha), Marcos (Beta) and a large fish being held up by the both of them.  "Please, sit."

I complied to his command in a heart beat, my eyes gazing down. I forced myself to look up, looking at the office. It was spacious, a couch, coffee table, and tv placed nicely at the corner of the room. Bookshelves lined two of the walls, the entrance, and the parallel wall. The adjacent walls were a nice dark brown, pictures placed nicely on the wall.

Then I saw the one thing that calmed me other than my sketch book. A violin. I looked at him and smiled slightly, expecting him to talk.

He grinned at me before he handed me a small box.

"It is a gift." I opened the blue wrapper carefully, my fingers grazing the exposed, black box. Opening, I with held a gasp, giving it back instantly.

"I can't accept such valuables." I bowed my head respectfully and closed my eyes shut.

I looked up to see Leon looking a little hurt.

"Why?" He sat up straighter, and looked at me.

I retracted my hand, taking out the chain necklace with an iron cross hanging from the chain delicately.

"This is meant for royals." I told him.

He shook his head and closed the blinds, darkness consuming the room. I looked in awe as the cross glowed a deep red and faded to a silver, one shade that matched my eyes. Footsteps walked over to the entrance, turning on a light that was hidden on the bookshelf and turning the lights to a dim.

I turned around to see him grinning, his hand pulling down his shirt. On his chest was the same diamond marking at the corner of my eye.

"You aren't the only Diamond wolf, ya' know."

=-=-= A diamond wolf is basically this two tailed wolf that can use shards to attack. Idea isn't mine, though. Credit to the original artist whom I forgot their name since it's been a long while

Feedback is much appreciated! It motivates me to move to the next chapter.
