{Ethan}

The pain.

Numb.

Darkness.

My name.

What had happened?

"Ethan, you have to wake up!" The tearful tone of Denton's voice echoed in my head.

"Think about your family," Terrace. Wait, these voices....

"Your mate!" Sage. They aren't in my head....

"Think about us and open your God damned eyes!" Kell. That was the first time I heard her curse. They may echo, but....

"Please... I want to thank you for saving our lives, so lift those fucking lids!" Green. I'm alive?

"Please....." Jess' voice sounded broken as more sounds of sobs filled my ears.

"Remember what you told me?" Denton gently shook my body, making white hot pain soar through my body and I felt like screaming. "You told me, 'don't you fucking dare say goodbye. This is just, 'see ya later'! So wake up, you fucking shit!" His voice cracked as he with held evident tears. But then, there were no more voices.

I wanted to speak, to tell them I was okay.

How do you even speak?I don't know how to describe this pain. Numbing? Excruciating? Tolerable? Overwhelming?

"You shit. Now, because of you, we all have a nasty burn, but, if it wasn't for you, we would be dead." Denton was growling now, and I could tell how badly he just wanted me to open my eyes.

"I'm not moving from this spot until you wake the fuck up." Hotch said in a determined voice. I may have only seen him once, but I could already imagine him sitting with his arms and legs crossed, pouting. Heh.

"Sh....." I finally managed to move my dry lips. My throat hurt like I was swallowing thumb tacks, needles, and nails as I finally moved it.

"He..." Every one seemed to hold their breath, hearts pounding loudly.

"Shut... up...." I finally managed to squint my eyes open. Who the fuck glued boulders to them?! And who invited the sun?!

"Ohmygodheisaliveguyshereallyisalivegogetthedoctorrightnowand-"

"Shut up." I managed in a more clearer voice, widening my eyes to a blurry sight, before focusing on the blurry gazes that towered over me.

I was pulled into a hug, and I let out a hiss of discomfort and pain.

"Sorry." Denton looked at me with a teary gaze. Everyone around me seemed pale, skin washed from it's natural tone. It almost seemed grey, or nearly yellow. Dark bags framed their eyes, and I could nearly feel the relief from them.

"It's hard to sleep when you guys won't shut up." I admitted, watching the doctor come near and check me up. First, he started with flashing the sun's light directly in my eyes, then sticking a branch in my mouth, and stick a pole in my ears.

Or, that's what it felt like.

"A bit of water, and a lot of time will make you good as new." He smiled and left, probably reporting to the General or some shit like that.

I looked around and gave them a confused look.

Sure, I saw the bandages around their heads, arms, and legs, but why weren't they in a bed?

Terrace must have saw the question in my eyes and shook his head slowly.

"Bro, compared to you, we are fine." I finally looked down at my body, my heart rate spiking as I tried to process this.
