"Oh my God...," Alaina says exasperatedly.

"Guys," the Captain says, trying to calm them down, though it was no use.

"Oh look me at, I'm poor little Alaina who can't even run down a hallway without coughing and spluttering 'I can't, I can't', oh someone help me!" Cain says sarcastically, his voice changing to a mimicking version of Alaina's girly voice.

"You pirates are so... annoying!" Alaina says in anger.

"Agreed," the Captain says.

"Oh and I happen to be helping Eris," Cain adds on with his girly voice.

"You would've too if it meant life or death," Alaina argues.

"I wouldn't have killed someone honey," Cain says. "That's where you're wrong."

"And that's where you're wrong, I was going to try and escape her by going onto your ship and being let off on an anonymous island, I already told you this."

"You didn't tell me," the Captain says, frowning.

"Oh come on, you weren't ever going to go off on your own," Cain says.

"Yes I was!" Alaina says, her cheeks flushing red in anger. She hadn't ever felt like punching someone before, but if she had her hands free she knew she'd want to punch Cain senseless.

"Cain," the Captain warns.

"So you were going to go start a life somewhere else were you? I bet you wouldn't have survived a day on that island."

"I survived more than you did," Alaina says, teeth gritted.

The Captain couldn't help but choke on a cough. She had a point...a very good point. Cain and the Captain had been attacked by Meela and yet she'd arrived at the ball with nothing more than a scratch.

"Okay fine... what were you going to do when Eris came for you?" Cain asks, trying to catch her out in her lies.

"I was going to happily let her kill me."

"Well you didn't look happy back there when she held a knife to your neck."

"She had plans for me," Alaina says simply. "And I was going to let her."

"What exactly were you expected to do?" Cain asks.

"To kill the Captain because she was too in love with him to kill her herself," Alaina says. She couldn't help it anymore, she didn't want to keep the lies and the secrets to herself and by now it was too late to really not tell the truth. What was the point in keeping them to yourself?

"Ouch," Cain says.

"She told me at the castle," the Captain says.

"Who... Eris told you?" Cain asks.

"Yes while we were...," the Captain begins to say, but then coughs at the end, trying to get the hint across without saying the words. Cain lets out a disgusted noise.

"You didn't!"

"I didn't," the Captain says. "But she wanted it."

"But I take it some clothes were removed?" Cain asks.

"Who do you want to know!?" Alaina couldn't help but ask.

"I'm curious as to what my twin sister is getting up too," Cain says defensively.

"Oh sure, you're just a perv," Alaina says.

"Am not!" Cain argues back. "The fact that my best friend and my sister were hooking up is a little concerning."

Alaina rolls her eyes and then looks at the ship before her. Crates of food and loose rope were everywhere. The sails above her were flapping in the soft wind as the ship coasts smoothly along the waving sea. Nothing seemed out of place apart from the fact that the three of them were tied against the same pole. The ropes were digging into her wrists and causing circulation to be lost to her fingertips.

"How about to skip back to the part where we were going to be coming up with a plan?" Alaina asks after a few seconds of silence.

"Good idea," the Captain says. "I vote for this idea, Cain goes and gets the weapons, I keep Eris preoccupied and Alaina stays on deck to keep a look out."

"By 'keeping Eris preoccupied', you mean making-out with her, right?" Cain says smartly.

"No I mean it be trying to kill her."

"Kill her?" Cain asks, shocked.

"She has to die," the Captain says. "Or we will."

"Understandable," Cain says simply.

"Okay then, that's the plan," the Captain says.

"I think we should we worrying about the fact that we're tied to a friggin pole, first," Alaina says angrily.

"Tsk tsk, language young one," Cain says.

"Young one? I'm just as old as you guys!" she huffs.

"Oh yeah? How old are you?" Cain questions.

"I'm eighteen...," Alaina says, her age sounding pathetic at a time like this. How have they even gotten onto this choice on conversation? Something was seriously wrong with these pirates... were they even pirates? They didn't kill, instead they killed girls by their sexiness and therefore slept with them. They could fight... and they talked like pirates... but they weren't like the pirates Alaina had been growing up with. No... Eris was a different sort of pirate. The evil kind.

"Nineteen! Score," Cain says with a laugh. Alaina only rolls her eyes.

The Captain sighs, "Are we finished comparing our ages now?"

"Aye," Cain says with a cheeky smile.

"Good, because now we're leaving," the Captain says as he finally pushes the ropes from his wrists free. Luckily for him, he'd been smart enough to push out the ropes when he'd been tied up, therefore he'd allowed himself room to get out later on.

"Oi!" Cain says. "When did you manage that?"

The Captain stands up on the spot and wriggles his fingers with a smile of success creeping over his features.

"I, dear Cain, am smart, unlike you."

Cain mumbles something incoherent underneath his breath before the Captain bends down and begins to try and untie Cain's ropes. Except, they were too tight to get off.

"Damn it," the Captain curses. "I'll be back with a knife."

"Wait, you can't leave," Cain says.

"Can to," the Captain says, turning around and walking over to the door he knew too very well. The sense of his childhood on this ship brings back cheerful memories. Those times when he'd climbed right up to the top of the gaff and then to the very brink of the bowsprit. Yes, he'd been a little daredevil with Cain right behind him, following him.

"Blade... BLADE!" Cain yells out at the retreating Captain, but all he got was the response of the Captain's moving shoulders as he walks off.

Cain curses underneath his breath as he slumps his head back against the pole in exasperation. They were screwed....
