Once when Lily was with Remus in the library, practicing Transfiguration James and Sirius made Remus yelp so Lily would look at him then they replaced the rat on the table with Peter so he could nick some of Lily's stuff.
It did not go well.
Let's just say Alice Prewett, Marlene McKinnon and Lily's roommates altogether didn't appreciate it, and there was a fork involved.
