"Sounds like a good idea. See you later birthday girl!" Tom called as he dragged Hunter away and out the door. He was running away. How manly.

The girls took me to a salon where I got my hair blow dried and styled. They also gave me a manicure and waxed me eyebrows. I had never experienced such bittersweet pain. Do it for beauty, I changed in my head the whole time they were ripping my poor little hairs out. God I hated being a girl sometimes.

"I can't believe it. You made it so obvious that I like Hunter." I whined as we drove back to my place to get changed then make our way to this mysterious venue.

Lauren rolled her eyes, "Calm your panties woman, he's so thick he wouldn't realise your feelings even if you did a strip tease in front of him."

Lola giggled, "That is true. He can be a bit stupid sometimes" She agreed. "Especially when it comes to girls."

It got me wondering if he had any girlfriends before. He probably had since he was really good looking. The thought made my stomach churn though. I know I shouldn't be jealous because he wasn't with anyone now but still. Jealously is a pain in the ass.

After we all got our final touches of our outfit done, we all drove to the venue chatting excitedly in the car with the radio turned up high.

"Last Christmas I gave you my heart but he very next day you have it away." We all sang along but it came out more of a cheer or a chant. I think we scared a few people walking on the sidewalk and possibly made their ears bleed since our windows were rolled right down and our singing was...well...terrible.

"We're here!" Lauren exclaimed as we pulled up in front of the Hilton hotel. My eyes widened.

"Wait you guys booked me a party here?" I asked in disbelief. "How did you afford it?"

Lauren made jazz hands as she gestured towards Lola, "This little princess over here managed to get the money off her parents."

"What? But it must've cost a fortune! I can't let you spend all that on me." I started to fret thinking about just how much this party costed her.

She gave me a huge grin, "I begged my mum. No biggie. I'm not bragging but we have money rolling around the place."

"It's true." Lauren agreed, nodding.

After I thanked them both and hugged the life out of Lola, they took me to the top floor where the suite was. Apparently they booked the whole floor so people could roam around freely without bothering the neighbours. Also, if people needed to crash there for the night, they could. It was an amazing idea and I was so grateful.

As we reached the top floor we knocked on the door to the suite and waited until Tom answered.

"Well hello ladies, are you ready to party?" He asked with a toothy grin.

"Yes!" We all cheered.

"Then come on in."

As we entered, people jumped out and shouted "Surprise!" As they all pulled on their poppers. There weren't as many people as there were at Taylor's but I was glad that they were all people I knew and who I was acquaintances, if not friends, with. A few people from my classes here and there. Some people I became friends with when I was still popular but remained friends after the whole leaving Georgie's group.

After people came up to me to give me a present and wished me a happy birthday, which I could tell were meaningful, Tom started the music and the party kicked off.

Lauren, Lola and I had fun by doing weird dances on and jumping on the massive king size bed. We also stuffed our faces with the room service food that the guys ordered up before. We then had a few cocktails before going back to jumping on beds again.

"Hey Katie, can I steal you for a bit?" I heard Hunter call over the music.

"Oh yeah sure! You've already stolen her if you know what I mean." Lauren shouted with a grin. I smacked her arm when she said a little quieter in my ear, "Stolen her heart." She was drunk already, my god.

As I walked over to Hunter he gave me a lopsided grin as he pulled me onto the dance floor that people just created. It was a pretty upbeat song so we jumped around for a bit but then, coincidentally (not. Tom was the DJ so he was obviously behind this) a slow and romantic song came on. It was also a Christmas ballad. Kill me now.

That thought disappeared as soon as Hunter grabbed my waist and pulled me closer to him though. I thought I was going to puke on him because of the butterflies in my stomach. Plus the alcohol mixed with food maybe.

As couples started appearing on the dance floor, Hunter and I held onto to each other tightly as if our life depended on it. It felt like one of those clichè proms in movies where the girl finally gets the guy. And maybe there was a chance for me too because right then, it almost felt like he felt the same.

His eyes were trained on me as we swayed to the beat and every so often the corners of his mouth would twitch into a smile.

After the song had ended, he dragged me over to the huge Christmas tree that was stood in the corner of the room. It was considerably quieter and I could hear my own thoughts at the least.

"Well that was fun." I said as I shot him a grin. He returned it but it was a nervous one. Why was he nervous?

He suddenly took my both my hands into his own and looked me dead in the eye, "You know what they say about mistletoes?" He asked as he gestured to the one right above us. My heart thumped loudly against my ribcage and I swear the whole room could almost hear it.

He spoke again before I could answer, "People kiss under them for good luck." He said leaning in close to my ear to I could hear without him shouting. This made the situation a whole lot worse since my heartbeat raced faster than it ever had before. I could feel his breathing on my neck which sent shivers down my spine.

"Hunter-" I tried to speak but he cut me off as he pulled away from me.

He gave me a playful grin, "Unfortunately for you, I can only give you a hug since kissing would be innapropriate between friends." He chuckled slightly making my heart drop. I forced a smile as I accepted his 'friendly' hug. I felt stupid for ever thinking that he could've felt the same. I felt stupid for almost spilling my feelings to him.
