Chapter 31

Chapter 31 (Maddie's POV)

After we successfuly fixed the hose, I filled the bucket with water and added some soap. The sponges were passed out while I carried the sudsy water to the car. 

"Wait," Max paused. "Let's make this more fun."

"How?"

"Well.. we could get into teams and the team that's least wet, wins."

Bree furrowed her eyebrows. "How is that washing the car?"

"It's not," Max smirked. "I guess it could act as our shields or something."

"If we're doing teams, I call Maddie," Niall declared.

I smiled, walking over to my boyfriend. That put Bree with Max.

"Let's do this," I dramatically said in my special agent impression. 

Niall chuckled as we walked to one side of the car. Something in the garage immediately caught my eye. I quickly ran over to the two blue water guns. I brought them back to Niall and he smirked.

"Perfect."

Bree and Max stood on the other side, discussing their plan. Quietly, we filled up the water guns without them knowing.

"Ready?" Max called over to us.

"Yup!" I said, hiding my laugh.

I brought the gun up to my chest like a cop.

Niall laughed, "You're so cute."

I responded by pretending to blow gun smoke off the tip of the "weapon"

"GO!" Bree yelled. 

Niall and I peaked through the tinted windows to see our opponents holding a hose on the other side. Niall leaned down to my shorter height to give me a quick kiss. I shrieked as cold water hit my back. I turned to face a smiling Bree. I brought my weapon up to aiming position. 

"Max they have water guns!" 

I laughed as she screamed. Behind me, Max was approaching Niall with another hose in his hand. Niall started to spray Max and I joined in. He ran back to his side of the car, defeated. Our battle got quite intense. I even added some summersaults to stay in character. At one point, Bree and Max had cornered Niall and I. 

"Get behind me," he instructed. 

My back was pressed to the car as Niall's body blocked mine. Then, the water came. It was hitting Niall, completely soaking him. But the water didn't touch me. My bodyguard shot back, defending us. Suddenly, it all stopped. I peaked out to see a confused Max and Bree. They held hoses that didn't have water rushing out of them. 

"What the?"

We all turned to the faucet to see Mrs Marks. She had shut off the water. 

"What is going on? I told you to wash my car, not fool around!" 

I bit my lip, looking down. No one said anything. She scoffed, then stormed back inside. We put down our weapons when Niall spoke up.

"Wait, Maddie and I won!" He realized. 

I looked down to my shirt. I was barely hit. Our opponents however, were soaked. 

"We did!" I agreed. 

Max and Bree frowned. Niall picked me up and I wrapped my legs around his waist. I giggled against the kiss. He carried me back inside while singing, "We Are The Champions."
