The next day I eventually had to go back to school.

Yay....not really.

I had no energy to face Claire, nor Matthew, nor Vanessa, nor teachers.

I just wanted to sit in my usual spot at the library, buried in a good book.

I don't know why, but reading really interested me.

It was the only time and place I could transport myself into different settings, ask questions no one would make fun of or won't understand, use my imagination, have a little bit of peace.

Which is what thankfully I was currently doing.

No Claire.

No Matthew or his jock crew.

No Vanessa.

No teachers who do poorly at their job, no offense but I can do better.

Just me and my book.

"Grace" a voice whispered.

Are you serious?!

Now?

I was just getting to the good part.

I sigh.

I am never going to finish a chapter of a book anymore.

At least not in this place.

It's as if everyone who bugs me comes into the library.

I think I'm going to have to switch to the janitor's closet.

"What" I mutter lowering my book practically slamming it onto the table.

"Well hello there" he greets.

I blush as my face softens.

"Sorry" I mummer.

Slade chuckles.

"It's no problem I know I was interrupting a good part" he states.

"You have no idea the main character was going to go into this room and find...." I pause recognizing I'm going on and on about something.

I falsely let out a laugh looking upon his amused face.

"You don't care" I clear my throat.

"It's not even that. You're just so focused, and interested" he informs.

"Oh" I reply with a slight smile.

"I actually read the book already, it's really good" he informs.

"Really?" I question my smile growing.

"Yes Evans really, I read" he replies.

"I didn't mean to tease, Johnson" I add.

"You were implying it in a way though" he defends.

I roll my eyes playfully.

Slience begins to fill the air as we both run out of things to say.

He begins to look around the library as I awkwardly sit there squirming in my seat.

"Sorry about my mom!" I blurt out before I could even think.

He chuckles as a blush begins to creep onto my cheeks.

Ugh, he probably notices I'm turning red.

"It's no problem" he replies.

"It is. She's so overwhelming, and so extra with things. Just....crazy in all ways you can think off" I inform.
