Dad... It's Complicated

Tara's POV
"You have some explaining to do Missy."
I nodded and led him to a secluded corner and began," What do you want to know?"
"How did you meet these gods?"
I grinned mischievously," That is a long story but it involves me running away from my host family for the summer cuz I got bored and traveling to the U.S.  where they found me and declared me as their Princess."
"How are you Princess?"
"I'm the descendant of Zeus. He was mum's grandfather and is my great grandfather. Mum doesn't know about him though. They call me Princess because out of all of the descendants of him I was the most powerful and the most interested in weapons than any of them. So he ended up taking an interest in me. So he had all of the gods bless me. Took a long time too I might add."
"Why did you accept?"
"There was an opportunity to learn things about weapons and powers that I had never had before."
"Did you go back to your host family?"
"No. I stay with the gods on Olympus during the summer, learning more about weapons and powers. I however told them not to tell you and let me tell you. I can be very convincing when I want to be."
"Why didn't you want to tell us?"
"Because I didn't know what your reaction would be. I wasn't scared or nervous just... uncertain whether or not you would accept me for who I am."
"Are you a goddess?"
"No. Not yet at least. I have made a deal with the gods that when those I am friends with and those I love die they will become immortal gods with me unless they do not want to and prefer to live in Elysium."
"Last question: You-Know-Who seemed to know you and was scared of you. How?"
I felt my face harden into an emotionless shell and saw my dad flinch back.
"That was a dark summer dad. Do you really want to know?"
He nodded.
"Fine. One of my best friends was kidnapped by Voldemort- Oh stop flinching. That's his name. Or would you prefer I use Tom?- Tom captured one of my friends and in the process drew in some unwanted danger. Me. I followed him the moment he took my friend and found his lair. The Malfoy's. I stood in the corner and watched him torture my friend near to insanity before he killed him. I remember a red haze covering my vision and launching myself at him. He tried to deflect me with an Unforgivable but it only gave me energy. I remember his astonished face as I landed on him and showed him some of my powers before slicing off his nose and going to start on his ears before fifteen or so Death Eaters pulled me off of him. I let a blast of power out blowing them backwards before I grabbed Tom by the front of his shirt and touching his forehead drawing on his memories to learn everything about him. He screamed the whole time. I learned his name and at the end before I left turned to him and said this: 'Let this be and example of what I can do Tom. Kidnap one of my friends again and I will physically harm you more than the Cruciatus Curse could.' Which I should have done tonight. Instead I just showed off my power a little bit more. Next time I meet him he will not be so lucky."
My dad gaped," Why? How? When? Where?"
I stood and gave him a cold glare," I need to go now. Formulate your question for the next time I see you."
"Wait!"
I turned back.
"You've seen people die? You've killed?"
"Yes and look dad... It's complicated. Don't think about it too much. And before you ask. No it doesn't split my soul. I'm built to be a killer. But I don't kill for fun. I kill because it protects people. It's not always what I want but sometimes it's what I need to do."
I turned around and began to walk away calling over my shoulder," Being me is hard Dad. Don't make it harder by hating me for what I do to protect people."
I walked off calmly but jumped when I felt arms wrap around me and hug me.
"I'm sorry you have to go through all of that."
I grinned and turned and hugged him back," Dad. By now it seems natural but thank you for understanding."
"Can you show me your powers?" he asked almost jumping in excitement.
I killed his mood with a small smile," Not until Christmas when both you mom James and whoever else is there."
He looked crestfallen but perked up instantaneously," Well then I'll see you soon."
I grinned and nodded," Bye Dad."
He smiled and walked out of the Great Hall. Mad Eye Moody walked up to me and looked at me.
"You know how much news there's going to be about this tomorrow?"
"I trust that you can deal with that and if not I will."
He nodded," I'll tell them."
He followed my dad. I turned and found my friends standing behind me. I smiled at them pathetically. They grinned at me.
"Now we're all sure that you're not normal!" Sirius said happily.
I laughed," Thanks guys."
They hugged me and I groaned," No more hugs."
They laughed and hugged me tighter. I sighed and slumped my shoulders. When they finally broke apart I launched myself at Lily and grabbed her hand dragging her off.
"BYE GUYS! LILY AND I ARE GOING TO DO SOMETHING!"
Lily laughed as I dragged her up to the girls' dorm room and burst into her dorm. I thought for a second.
"Oo I got it! Let's go swimming in the Black Lake!"
She nodded and grinned. I ran into the bathroom grabbing a bathing suit as it flew through the window. I had accidentally accioed it. Oh well. I slipped it on and quickly fishtailed my hair before stepping out of the bathroom and letting Lily slip in. She got dressed quickly and put her hair in a high ponytail. I handed her a pair of white shorts and threw on a pair myself. Deciding against shirts we walked out the door and into the basically empty common room. Except of course for a few choice boys.
Sirius just happened to look our way as we attempted to sneak out. His mouth fell open and I smirked before posing leaning forward slightly seductively. He drooled a little. He tapped James on the shoulder and pointed at Lily before returning his attention to me and watching me walk towards him. I leaned down over the back of his chair.
"So Sirius," I said chuckling as his eyes tried to see all of me at once," We're going down to the Black Lake to swim. You want to come?"
He was out of his chair and up in the boys dorm in less than three seconds James close behind. Remus followed more slowly. They came out with swim suits and muscle shirts on and we walked to the Black Lake.
I touched the water when we got there and decided it was a tad too cold. So I warmed it up with fire. I prayed to Poseidon for waves and a beach and they appeared. Then I thought of Zeus.
"Hey grandfather?" I asked in my head," Do you mind clearing away the clouds?"
He obliged and the sun shone increasing the temperature to a humid ninety degrees or so. I turned to the others.
"And that is how you go swimming in the Black Lake."
They grinned and raced to the beach. I ran with them before stopping and telling the boys to turn around as Lily and I turned around too. Lily and I slipped our shorts off and turned around at the same time as the boys. I examined Sirius who was across from me looking at his muscular torso. He was watching me with a smirk. I walked up to him hips swaying slightly and surprised him by trailing my fingers along his bicep and winking seductively before bursting out laughing and taking off to the water. I waited for a few moments before jumping through and oncoming wave soaking myself entirely. I felt someone suddenly grab my waist and lift me out of the water and let out a little squeak. I looked dow and saw Sirius and laughed before summoning up a bigger wave and knocking him over unfortunately taking me with him. After a while we began bodysurfing and then eventually ended up having a major sand ball fight. Sand was literally everywhere. Unintentionally we ended up skipping the whole day of classes just for fun. After a few hours the sun began to set and Remus went inside to do homework and Lily walked off with James to walk along the beach. Sirius and I sat down on the sand next to each other me with my legs crossed and him with his legs spread out comfortably. He looked over at me and grinned.
I nodded," Sup?"
He laughed," Oh you know just sitting on the beach with a random girl."
I chuckled," Besides that point."
He shrugged," Eh not much. Homework and crap like that but that's about it."
I laughed," Yeah me too."
We stayed in a comfortable silence afterwards. Somehow I ended up laying on his chest while he lay on the sand hands behind his head. I grinned drowsily and after it fully got dark we started heading in. The beach automatically converted itself into a small box which fell into my open palm. I put it in my pocket and walked up to the castle with Sirius. We made a bee line for the kitchens and quickly ate. Apparently I fell asleep there because the next morning I woke up on a couch in the common room my head on Sirius's chest and a camera flashing above.
