YEAR: 2001

It was a normal fall day and my 58th birthday was in a few days. For my birthday, Jude and George invited us over to Friar for the day so we could celebrate. About a week before, I invited Jude over for tea while Paul was out at the studio.

"I can't belive yer turnin 58...and I can't believe I'm 56...we're so old," Jude bluntly said.
"I know I'm old, ye don't have to rub it in," I chuckled.
"So how are the kids?"
"Ugh, well, Stel is married...and pregnant, B found a nice guy, they've been datin for a few years, James broke up with his girlfriend, Mary's doin well with Arthur and Elliot, and Heather said that she's thinkin about havin another kid,"
"Isn't she a little old to have another kid?"
"She's 38, she still has a chance,"
"I suppose yer right,"
"So had Dhani met anyone?"
"Yes actually, a very nice girl from Iceland, her name is Sola,"
"How long have they been together?"
"A while, Dhani's actually talkin about proposin,"
"That's amazin! Ye might have grandkids!"
"Might?"
"Well, yeah, Dhani's what? 35? And when Dhani proposes and they get married he'll be like 40!"
"Sola's only 25..."
"Oh! So yeah...yer probably gonna get grandkids," I laughed.
"So Polly's in college?"
"Yeah, Heather said she's doin well,"
"That's gonna be a little strange,"
"What?"
"Havin a kid in college while yer raisin a baby...it's just odd,"
"Heather just misses Polly, she'll get over the whole baby idea soon,"
"Do ye think she should have another baby?"
"Personally, I think she's crazy, but then again, this is coming from someone who had 4. But she's my daughter, I'll support her no matter what,"
"That's good of ye,"

As Jude and I were talking, the phone in the living room began rining. I got up and walked over to it.

"Hello?"
"Hey mum!"
"Hey Heather! What's up? Is Polly in town?"
"No, she's not done with her semester yet,"
"Then what's up?"
"I'm pregnant!" she cheered.
"Oh...that's great honey,"
"Ye don't sound excited,"
"I'm just a little surprised, that's all. I didn't think you'd actually get pregnant,"
"Well I am..."
"I know...good for ye,"
"Thanks mum,"
"Anytime. Feel free to stop by anytime,"
"Can I come over now?"
"Sure, Jude and I are havin tea,"
"Alright, I'll be over in a few,"
"Alright dear, see ye soon," I hung up the phone and walked back to the kitchen.
"Who was that?" Jude asked.
"It was Heather, she's comin over to have tea," I took a small sip from my cup, "She's pregnant,"
"She is! Well...good for her,"
"It's strange," I quickly said.
"Very strange,"

Jude and I continued talking until HEather rang the doorbell.

"Hey mum!" she gave me a hug.
"Hey," I smiled, "come in. The tea's in the kitchen,"
"Thanks," she walked down the corridor and into the kitchen.
"Hey sweet pea," Jude said as she stood up from the table and giving Heather a hug.
"Hey auntie Jude," she chuckled.
"Okay," I said as I walked back into the kitchen, "Heather, honey, I wanted to talk to ye,"
"Is it about the pregnancy?"
"Mhmm...."
"Then I don't wanna hear it!"
"Heather! Ye need to know the risks!"
"But mum, that's the thing, I don't care! I just wanted a baby!"

As Heather and I were arguing, the phone in the living room began rining again. Jude got up and picked up the phone.

"Hello?" she had an annoyed tone in her voice.
"Is this Mrs. Harrison?"
"Yes? Who is this?"
"I'm doctor Grant, I work at St. Vincent's hospital. I'm very sorry to inform ye that yer husband has been injured,"
"How injured?" Jude became frightened.
"Ye should get down here as soon as possible."
"HOW INJURED!"
Heather and I heard Jude yell in the living room. We soon became concered and rushed in to see what was wrong.
"Mrs. Harrison, yer husband said that someone snuck into yer estate and stabbed him several times. He isn't doin very well, please get down here, he needs ye,"
Jude dropped the phone and put her hands to her temples. She began hyperventalating and crying.
"Jude what's wrong?" I asked.
"George was stabbed..."
"Oh my god...is he okay?"
"No,"
"We need to get ye down to the hospital!"
"Yeah..." Jude cleared her throat and dried her tears.
