TRIAD'S BUILDING-DAY
[Landon is still tied up in chair. Clarke and Mrs. Greasley are watching him from second floor.]
Mrs. Greasley: Usual debrief before you throw him into the pit. Find out where he's from. Family. Any other phoenixes he's willing to give up. Then ask him about the Knife.
"I though he was in charge." Said Hayley.
"He is. She just doesn't know it." Said Audrey.
Clarke: As in the Knife?
Mrs. Greasley: When I was at the school, I heard he tried to steal it. And I'd like to know why he wanted one of the locks to the pit. Shouldn't be too difficult. He recorded the voice mail with minimal resistance. [Mrs. Greasley leaves. Clarke enters the room and turns off cameras. Then he goes downstairs, to Landon. He is holding a journal.]
Clarke: No one's watching us now.
Landon: Look, I already told the other guys I don't know anything. [Clarke pulls desk to him and places photos.]
Landon: You can kill me, but I'm part phoenix, so I'm just gonna come back to life in a burst of flames, and there's gonna be a lot of ash to clean up. And after I come back, I'm not gonna know anything.
Clarke: I'm not here to interrogate you, Landon. In fact, I'm here so you can finally get some answers. [Clarke takes off ropes of Landon.]
"What does he mean?" Asked Freya.
Clarke: When they created the locks to Malivore, they also created decoys so no one would know which three artifacts were the real thing. I think you might be able to help me with that. Is one of these artifacts calling to you?Like a whisper, an itch? [Landon looks down at photos.]
Landon: A: I don't feel anything. And B: even if I did, I'm not helping the people who kidnapped me.
Clarke: Oh, this isn't for Triad. No, they want these artifacts to stay hidden. To be clear, I want to toss them into the pit and unlock Malivore.
"I don't get it. Who is he or what is his intentions? Why is he trying to bring back Malivore?" Asked Marcel.
Landon: Wow. Uh... Thanks for being honest. That's refreshing. But now I'm really not going to help you.
Clarke: I'll tell you a story. And at the end of it, you can decide whether you want to help me or not.
Landon: You think a story is gonna change my mind?
Clarke: This one will. Because it's the story of your father.
SALVATORE SCHOOL-HOPE AND AUDREY'S DORM-DAY
[Hope is looking at canvas and holding brush, but she isn't painting.]
Elijah is reminded of Klaus and shakes his head amused.

[Lizzie looks at Josie's empty bed.]

[Josie is searching about Merge in library.]
Caroline grimces.

[Audrey is playing ball with pack.]
SALVATORE SCHOOL-CORRIDOR-DAY
[Rafael is standing still. Someone bumps into him.]
Boy: Sorry. [This seems to snap him out of his head and he looks around confused.]
"What's wrong with him?" Asked Davina.
"His mind was unstable. It was kinda stuck between wolf and human." Said Audrey.
SALVATORE SCHOOL-ALARIC'S OFFICE-DAY
[Emma, Alaric, Hope and Audrey are listening voicemail from Landon to Alaric.]
Landon: Hey, Ric. Sorry to take off like that, but I just needed a little time. So I'm going camping for a while. Hopefully I can catch up on classwork later. Tell Raf and Jed hi for me. [The voicemail ends.]
"Smart." Approved Kol.
Audrey: Jed?
Hope: Why would he say hi to Jed?
Emma: You should go after him.
Hope: Something doesn't make sense.
Alaric: Hope...
Hope: Triad already tried to come for him once. It's not safe for him out there.
Alaric: We kept a massive secret from him, and I think he just needs some time to process that. I think we should respect his privacy and just wait. [Hope scoffs.]
"Why would he ask for someone he doesn't even know? Use your brain!' Said Hayley.
Audrey: (scoffs) I have never heard something so stu-- [Audrey glances at Hope and stops herself.]
Audrey: (forces a smile) Maybe you are right.
"Wow. I didn't think you really would." Said impresses Marcel. Audrey rolled her.
[Alaric and Emma look at her shocked. Audrey leaves and so does Hope. Emma and Alaric are still looking at Audrey shocked and confused.]
Emma: What was that?
Alaric: I have no idea.
Audrey scrowles.
[Alaric notices Emma's gloom look.]
Alaric: I know that look. What's wrong?
Emma: These kids have been through so much lately. I've done all I can to help Rafael, but the side effects of Hope's elixir are getting worse. He's losing time, having flashes of aggression. I think he's still sliding between his wolf mind and his human mind.
Alaric: I will... I'll keep an eye on him.
Emma: You've been running on fumes these past few weeks. It wouldn't hurt to bring in someone else to help, maybe even assist in researching Rafael's condition.
SALVATORE SCHOOL-KITCHEN-DAY
[Hope walks in kitchen and sees Lizzie. Kitchen is messy.]
Hope: Was there a monster attack in here?
Lizzie: I was bored, so I attempted a banana cream pie by myself.
Hope: Where is it?
Lizzie: In the garbage. I said "attempted."
Stefan and Caroline chuckle.
Lizzie: So we're gonna go back to plan A, and some else is gonna make it. You. [Hope notices Lizzie's strange mood.]
Hope: What's wrong? [Lizzie eyes Hope for a second and then decides to tell her.]
Lizzie: Josie didn't come back last night. I think she slept in Penelope's old room, which is a really good way to get hepatitis B.
Damon luaghs. Caroline looks worried for her daughters relationship.
Hope: Have you slept at all? You seem a little...
Lizzie: Focused? Motivated? On point?
Hope: Sure. Yeah.
Lizzie: Not sleeping in the same bedroom means that Twin Forgiveness Cuddle is off the table. But she's been holed up in the library, so a snack offering should do the trick.
Hope: At some point, you might actually have to apologize.
Lizzie: (Gasps) Never apologize.
"It's definetly Damon's infulence." Said Stefan.
"Yeah. She is as cool as me." Said Damon. Caroline snorts.
Lizzie: Okay. Trust me, okay? This is what we do. I'm selfish, then she sulks, and then I offer baked goods.
Hope: Someone else's baked goods.
Lizzie: It's giving you something to do with yourself, isn't it? Your turn for an update. Any word from our mop-headed elf?
Hope: He says he needs time to think. Hmm. I don't know. I feel like if I could figure out the right thing to say, then he'd come back.
Lizzie: So, practice. Emma has this prism that simulates a conversation. She makes me use it to talk to my mom and my dad when I'm in a state. I'll trade you one prism for a banana cream pie.
SALVATORE SCHOOL-LIBRARY-DAY
[Josie is looking through books. Lizzie closes books with magic and goes to Josie with tray.]
Lizzie: I brought you some brain food.
Josie: I'm not hungry.
Lizzie: It's all your favorite things.
Josie: Which I'm sure somebody else had to tell you.
Salvatores look at them with frown.
[Lizzie glances at device that helps point out books if you write the word. Josie erases the word.]
TRIAD BUILDING-DAY
Landon: No offense, but I'm not gonna believe anything you say. I mean, A-plus for manipulation, man. This is really frightening stuff, but... [Clarke gives Landon a photo of him and his mother's.]
Landon: Where did you get this?
Clarke: It's all part of what I'm about to tell you.
Landon: Look, I already know about my dad. My mom got pregnant by one of the monsters in Malivore.
Clarke: Well, then he'll be easy to spot in my story. Around a millennia ago, in certain parts of the world, there were monsters.
"Creatures." Grumbled Audrey.
FLASHBACK
[People are screaming and running while fire burns region.]
Clarke: (O.C.) And in one region there was no monster more terrifying than dragons.
[Dragon lets out a big fire from its mouth. Woman hides behind building, while others are screaming, running qnd burning.]
TRIAD'S BUILDING-DAY
Clarke: On their own, no faction was any match for dragons.
"And me and Hope destroyed her in one try." Said smug Audrey.
Clarke: So an unholy alliance was formed. A witch, a werewolf and a vampire...
Landon: Walked into a bar. I think I've heard this one before.
"Ryan is really patient." Muttered Audrey.
"Who is Ryan?" Asked Klaus.
"You'll find out." Said Audrey.
Landon: Sorry.
FLASHBACK
Clarke: (O.C) The Triad combined their blood, [Vampire, witch and werewolf are standing in acircle and holding hands.]
Clarke: (O.C.) ...using black magic to create a golem capable of consuming the dragons. [They cut their hands and pour blood in the mud. From the mud creature emerges.]
"Malivore?" Asked Elijah.
"Yep." Said Hope.
Clarke: (O.C.) They spelled the creature to have an insatiable hunger. [Woman draws a symbol on Malivore's head.]
Clarke: (O.C.) But their spell also made it unable to harm witches, werewolves, or vampires. They named it Eater of the Dark.
"So it won't hurt ever supernatural?" Said Davina.
[Malivore approaches a woman.]
Clarke: (O.C) When the dragons, in human form, returned to collect the treasure from all the villages they had attacked, it was waiting for them. [Woman's eyes glow and she lets out smoke. Before she can fire Malivore consumes her.]
"Wow." Saod Kol fascinated.
Clarke: (O.C.) It took them, consumed them. To their surprise, the creature was more effective than they could have dreamed. After the dragons were gone, it kept eating every monster it could, swallowing them into an endless space inside itself.
TRIAD BUILDING-DAY
Landon: You're saying that the golem ate my dad?
Clarke: No, Landon. Your father is the golem. The Eater of the Dark.
