Chapter 22

DORIAN'S COTTAGE-DAY
Dryad: What magic have you employed to search for my Oliver?
Alaric: It's a new spell called Google.
Damon laughes.
Dryad: You're mocking me.
Alaric: Yeah, but just a little bit.
Dryad: Will you open the window? I would like to feel the breeze.
"Probably not a good idea." Said Stefan.
Alaric: Until I know the full extent of your power, I'd rather not.
Dryad: You do not need to fear that I will deceive you. Unlike humans, dryads do not lie. We choose not to harm.
Alaric: Well, in the human world, sometimes telling the truth can do more harm than good. So, who's this Oliver that Dorian went to go find?
Dryad: Oliver never lied. He was not like the other men who would come into the forest to chop down trees so that their houses could be bigger than other houses. He played music. He would lean against the trees and feel happiness. We fell in love.
"So Cute." Said Davina.
Alaric: You should know he might not be around anymore. It's been a... a while since those days you remember.
Dryad: Oliver made a great sacrifice; he became a vampire so we might be together forever. We decided to meet at the clearing where we fell in love so we could run away. But circumstance got in the way.
"Aww. I hope they'll reunite." Said Caroline.
Alaric: Hmm.
Dryad: I feel your pain. You've also lost a great love.
Alaric: A psychic tree: check.
Dryad: Is your humor helpful in avoiding your pain?
Alaric: Not really, no.
Dryad: You carry more than one loss.
Alaric: Several. Including the mother of my children. But there's happiness there, too. I see it in their smiles, in their laughter. I still see her sometimes.
Salvatores look at Alaric with sympathy and sadness.
[Dorian enters the room.]
Dorian: Good news, bad news. Our pal Bonnie did her witch thing on the ring. Some sort of combo summoning spell and astral projection, so... [Dorian is interrupted by man that follows him.]
Oliver: Can someone please tell me what's going on here?
Dryad: Oliver. [Dryad goes toward Oliver.]
Oliver: I'm sorry, do I know you?
"What?! Why does he not remember? They were in love!" Said Caroline.
"Spoilers." Said Audrey and Hope.
Alaric: I'm guessing that's the bad news.
Dorian: (whispers) Yeah.
SALVATORE SCHOOL GROUNDS-DAY
[Landon is jumping to reach the blue cloth that's wrapped around tree's brench. Hope is watching him wkth crossed arms. Then Landon is standing on his hands.]
Landon: Hey, I'm doing it. Now what?
Hope: Hold it for ten minutes. [Lamdon falls. Next Landon is trying to lift a wood.]
"This is just pathetic." Said Damon.
[Landon notices Hope's look.]
Landon: What?
Hope: You can stop. You failed. You have no supernatural strength.
Landon: What's next?
Hope: Next? You failed the vertical climb, the long jump, and you straight-up refused to swim across the lake.
Landon: Yeah, well, excuse the foster kid for never having swim lessons. Look, I might suck at-at... everything, apparently, but I only have to pass one test to stay, so I'm not giving up yet.
"He seems to be telling truth." Said Hayley. Klaus doesn't agree.
[Emma walks up to them.]
Emma: How's it going?
Hope: Landon was about to run sprints to the lake and back. [Hope starts timer. Landon runs.]
Emma: What are you testing for, exactly?
Hope: His ability to get away from me as quickly as possible.
Audrey, Kol and Klaus brust out laughing. Others chuckle, too.
Hope: If he's gonna stay in this school, it's a must.
Emma: Did you run the lineage spell that I left you?
Hope: Yeah, first thing. Zero magic in his bloodline.
"Interesting." Said Kol.
"What's interesting?" Asked Davina.
"First of all, there is no human who is immune to compulsion if they didn't specifically train for it. Second of all, Most humans have some trace of magical blood in their veins from a far-flung ancestor. And guy who can't be compelled is exactly type of guy who should have some kind of supernatural blood." Said Kol.
Emma: Hmm.
Hope: Hmm?

Hope: So what does that mean?
Emma: We need to learn more about Landon's past.
[Later, near the water. Landon is sitting next to Hope.]
Hope: What's your name?
Landon: Landon Kirby. [Sphere glows blue.]
Hope: See? That's the truth. Now lie. What's your favorite food?
Landon: Rabbit. [Sphere glows red.]
"So it's lie detector." Said Damon.
"Yep. Cool, right?" Said Audrey.
"It is." Agreed Caroline.
"It's very usefull." Said Klaus.
Landon: So it's a... supernatural lie detector.
Hope: Pretty much your worst nightmare.
Landon: Bring it on.
Hope: Where were you born?
Landon: I don't know. [Sphere glows blue.]
Hope: Who are your parents?
Landon: My mom's name is Seylah. That's pretty much all I know. She gave me up for adoption when I was young. [Sphere is still glowing blue.]
Hope: And your dad?
Landon: Never met him. [It glows blue.]
Hope: Why can't you be compelled?
Landon: I have no idea. A couple days ago, I didn't even know what compulsion was. [Sphere is glowing blue.]
"He is telling truth!" Said Hayley victoriously.
"He still stole a knife and lied to Hope." Said Klaus.
Hope: Why'd you take the Knife?
Landon: I don't know. I don't... I remember doing it, but I don't remember why. [Sphere glows blue again.]
"That still doesn't explain what he is and why creatures started coming after he showed up." Said Kalus.
Hope: It's not good enough. If we can't figure out what you are, then you can't stay at this school.
SALVATORE SCHOOL- LIZZIE AND JOSIE'S DORM-DAY
Lizzie: This is such an honor. It's so nice to know that you all love me as much as I thought you did. [Josie enters the room.]
Josie: Hey, Lizzie, before you go too far down the road of victory speeches, I talked to Serena and her goth coven. She said that they would vote for you, but they just wanted to make sure that you would allow time off for pagan holidays.
Lizzie: Right. [Door is open, so Rafael enters.]
Josie: Hey, Raf.
Rafael: Hey, Jo.
"They are so cute." Said Caroline. Stefan and Damon glared at Rafael.
Lizzie: Welcome to the winner's circle.
Josie: How's it going with pack and Audrey? I mean, do you need any more advice on how to deal with them?
Rafael: That's actually why I'm here. [Rafael walks away from Josie, toward Lizzie.]
Rafael: Lizzie.
Lizzie: Hey.
Rafael: You got a sec?
Lizzie: I have a lot of secs. I mean... time.
"She is so... awkward." Chuckled Audrey.
Rafael: The honor council might get to decide if Landon can stay. Emma won't say how she's gonna vote, but I talked to MG, and he's the only vampire running, and he's on board. And because everybody knows that you're gonna get the witch vote, I...
Lizzie: Say no more. I know how much Landon means to you, and I would be happy to help.
Rafael: I mean, all right. Thank you. (Chuckles) Seriously.
Lizzie: Oh, if-if you would, um, be happy to... be my date to my birthday on Friday? [Josie drops what she is holding.]
"Wow." Said Caroline.
"She blackbailed partner for herself." Laughed Kol.
Rafael: Are you blackmailing me?
Lizzie: (Chuckles) No, silly. I'm black-tie'ing you. It's totally different.
"Not really."  Said Audrey.
Rafael: Sure. Whatever. [Lizzie smiles. She laughs after Rafael leaves and hugs Josie, who fakes her smile for Lizzie.]
SALVATORE SCHOOL-CELLAR-DAY
[MG gets down to cellars.]
MG: What up, Kaleb?
Kaleb: The hell you want, man? [Mg takes out blood bag.]
MG: I, uh... I-I copped this from the kitchen. I thought you might be hungry.
Kaleb: Not for bunny blood.
MG: It's the only blood in the school, man.
Kaleb: Then hunger strike it is, I guess.
"He has a point on this. Vampire should be able to drink human blood, like human is allowed to eat meat. And when i say drink human blood, i don't mean murder, i mean snatch, eat, erase." Said Audrey. Kol, Hope, Damon, Klaus, Elijah and Hayley agree.
MG: I'm sorry that you're in here, but let me make it up to you. Dr. Saltzman is starting an honor council. And if I get elected, I can change things around here, starting with getting you out of this cell.
Kaleb: Mm. You'd do that for me?
MG: Yeah, of course.
Kaleb: Well, all right. Send the vamps my way. I'll get 'em in line.
"He is planing something." Said Klaus.
"How would you know?" Asked Davina.
"I have seen that look before." Said Klaus.
MG: Thanks, man. Hey, you won't regret this. I promise.
Kaleb: Okay.
SALVATORE SCHOOL-GYM-DAY
[Audrey is chatting with Jed and some pack members.]
Rafael: We need to talk, Audrey.
Audrey: If it's about Landon, we already did.
Rafael: Just hear me out. I've got the vampires and the witches. But I need one more faction to make sure. Be nice to know I could count on my own pack.
"It isn't your pack. It's Audrey's." Said Klaus. Audrey smiled at her dad.
[Audrey's eyes glow yellow.]
Audrey: (growls) It is my pack and when i say no it means no!
Rafael: You said you would take my protest in consideration.
Audrey: Yes, i did and i listend out your problem and protest, But you seem to forget that i also said that final decision is mine. And my final decision is no!
Rafael: All right. [Rafael puts the bag down.]
Rafael: I've actually been studying things. Like Intro to Lycanthropy. An alpha has to face a challenger one-on-one. I didn't want to do things this way. But if what the alpha says goes... I got to be the alpha.
"I'll kill him!" Growled Klaus and Kol.
Pack girl: How dare you? [She and Jed try to attack Rafael, but Audrey stops them. Others growl at him, ready to attack.]
Audrey: Lela! Jed! Stand down! Rest of you, too!
Alex: But he...
Audrey: I accept the chellange. But remember one thing. When you lose, you will be out of pack for using my pack as weapon.
Rafael: I won't lose.
"As if he could defeat a Tribrid." Scoffed Hayley.
Audrey: Everyone get away from us.
Alex: Are you sure? [Audrey gives him a look. Pack obeys Audrey.]
Audrey: Are you ready?
Rafael: Yes.
Audrey: Someone count for us.
Lela: 3... 2... 1... start! [Rafael attacks Audrey, but Audrey swiftly gets out of way. She has her arms behind her back. Rafael turns around quickly to hit again, but Audrey jodges again and kicks Rafael in the opening. Rafael stumbles back. Audrey kicks Rafael in the knee with full force, which breaks Rafael's knee and makes him kneel. He howls out in pain and before Rafael can even react Audrey kicks him in the face and knocks him out cold. Werewolves cheer.]
Mikaelsons look proud of Audrey. Salvatores surprised at her amazing fighting skills.
"You are so dramatic. You could finish him before it even started." Said Hope.
"I probably could, but then Rafael would think i just got lucky and he wouldn't see how much difference is in our skill." Said Audrey.
"Show off." Teased Hope.
Boy: Wooohoo! THAT'S OUT ALPHA!
Lela: (fangirls) Did you see how effortlesly and fast she finished him?!
Alex: She didn't even use hands!
Lela: She didn't need to.
Boy: She is so cool!
Girl: She is an icon! [Jed walks up to Audrey.]
Jed: Congrulation.
Audrey: Thanks.
Jed: So... What are you gonna do to him?
Audrey: He can't stay in pack. [Jed agreed with her decision.]
From the look of it Elijah, Marcel, Klaus and Kol agree. Even Hayley seems to be hesistant of it.
"Isn't kicking him out of pack too much?" Asked Freya.
"I did everything to understand him, but all he did was disobey me, ignore all the rules and even dare to chellenge me! His Alpha! And the most importantly, he tried to use my pack as weapon! I couldn't let him just get away with this. I had to take action and i did." Said Audrey.
"I don't like it either, but Audrey is right. If she lets one get away, everyone will expect same and start disobeying." Agreed Hope.
