I wake up in a cold dark room. There are no windows and my eyes haven't quite adjusted to the dark yet. The floor is dirt. Even though I can't see the dirt I know how it feels. My eyes adjust a bit more and I realize there is a small dim light hanging from the ceiling. I look around the small room and I see two figures on a mattress. I quickly stand up and look at them. One of them seems to be around 5 or 6 and the other one seems to be around 15 or 16 years old.

"What's your name?" The older one asks

"Briar Rose" I say quietly

"It's nice to meet you Briar Rose, my name is Beatrice, but you can call me Bea" the older girl says

"It's nice to meet you Bea" I say

"This is Lily" Bea says putting an arm around the younger girl

"It's nice to meet you Lily" I say to Lily

"Here's a couple of things you should know, we get two meals a day lunch and dinner. The door only opens when they come to get us for experiments" Bea says

"Experiments?" I ask scared

"Yes experiments" Bea says sighing

"You can come sit with us if you want" Lily says

Her voice is kinda like Maude Ivory's in a way. It reminds me of her

I sit on the other side of Bea on the mattress.

"How long have you two been here?" I ask them

"I good amount of time. We don't know the exact amount of time" Bea says

"Are you sisters?" I ask them

"Yeah we are" Bea says

"I have an older sister. I love her a lot" I say getting sad

"You'll see her again" Bea says

"I hope so, the last conversation I had with her I said I hated her, I don't want her to think that's true" I say tears starting to come to my eyes

"We will get out. We don't know when but we will" Bea says

"If you want we can be your sisters for now" Lily says

"That would be nice" I say to Lily

"You remind me of my cousin Maude Ivory. I miss her a lot" I say to Lily

"Really? When we get out of here you'll be able to see her again!" Lily says

"No probably not she is back in District 12" I say to them

"District 12? Where are we now?" Bea asks

"The Capitol. Are you two not from the Capitol?" I ask

"No we're from District 9" Bea says

"That's grain right?" I ask

"Yes that's right" Bea says

"So you've never been outside since you got here?" I ask them

"No not once" Bea says

"Oh" I say surprised that I won't get even a little outside time

"So we're in the Capitol, what is it like?" Bea asks

"Everything is huge. The buildings are so tall and everything is so clean and there are cars everywhere. There is this huge toy store here that has 3 levels. It is so cool. The kids here can be a bit snobby if their parents think the Districts are bad, but I've made a couple of friends who are super nice. The parties are also huge here. The bigger the party the more rich the person is. There is also a park with lots of plants and bugs which is nice. That's where the people took me from. I was out on a walk with my tutor. Oh there is also this big warrior statue it is huge like taller than anything you have ever seen" I say to the both of them
