Dex blinked as he looked up ahead to see Tam and Keefe at the reception of the restaurant he and Fitz had just entered. Keefe instantly began to wave at Dex and Fitz, smiling at them and Tam was shaking his head and sighing.

"... A double date?" Dex looked at Fitz.
Fitz smiled nervously at Dex.
"I owed Keefe a favour and he decided to cash it in on a double date. He claimed that he wanted to have a double date with us before we could break up again. Even though we aren't dating." Fitz explained.
"You don't mind, do you?"
Dex shrugged.

"I guess I don't. But if Keefe attempts to meddle like Biana has been trying to meddle-" Dex began.
"We can light leap away and make them pay for our dinner." Fitz finished Dex's sentence. "Yeah, I was thinking the same thing."
Dex raised his eyebrows and he smiled at Fitz.
"Wow, good to know that you were reading my mind~" Dex grinned at Fitz, slightly teasing the Telepath.
Fitz rolled his eyes, smiling.
"C'mon. We should go." Fitz said.
Dex sighed softly as he interlocked his arm with Fitz's.
"Let's get this started." Dex said as he and Fitz began to walk over to Keefe and Tam.

"Hey Dexter!" Keefe smiled.
"What a lovely ring you have around your finger-"
Dex ignored Keefe and smiled at Tam.
"Been a little while, how's the married life treating you?" Dex asked, tilting his head.
Keefe frowned and Fitz smiled.
"Mmh, not sure if I made the right move marrying this dork." Tam said.
"Tam!" Keefe exclaimed.
Tam smiled at Keefe.
"I'm joking, love." Tam said.

"In all seriousness, it's been great." Tam faced Dex again.
"Keefe's been a great husband so far, and I can't wait to spend our whole lives together."
Tam pecked Keefe's cheek and Keefe began to blush.
"Can't believe he still gets flustered when you kiss him." Fitz grinned.
"Of course I do! I still can't believe that we've been together for this long! I can't even comprehend the fact that we're married!" Keefe exclaimed.
"It's all so surreal to me, but I'm very happy about it."
Keefe smiled at Tam. Tam smiled back at Keefe.

"Can we get to our table please?" Dex said.
"I don't want to interrupt this cute moment, but I am starving!"
"Oh, yeah! C'mon. We're at table 5 I think." Keefe said.
Keefe walked off and Tam followed alongside his husband. Dex and Fitz followed behind the couple.

*****

Fitz and Dex were sat next to each other, across from Keefe and Tam. They had already ordered and their meals had just arrived.
Keefe ordered a pitcher of a cocktail, so he poured a glass of it for everyone once it arrived at the table.

"Soo, why did you want to go on a double date with us?" Dex asked, taking a sip of his drink as he glanced at Keefe.
Keefe shrugged as he began to play with the food on his plate with his fork.
"I thought it'd be fun." Keefe smiled.
"Plus, I wanted to see how Fitz has been winning you over."

Keefe wiggled his eyebrows at Fitz and Fitz rolled his eyes.
"Why am I still friends with you?" Fitz questioned, tilting his head at Keefe.
"Cause I am the truest friend you'll ever have!" Keefe grinned.
Fitz frowned.

Tam elbowed Keefe and Keefe frowned at Tam.
"Stop it. I want to have a nice dinner with my husband and my friends." Tam said.
"I was just being honest." Keefe shrugged, picking up his glass.

Tam looked at Dex.
"Keefe definitely wants to make Fitz look like a fool, but thankfully he made this a double date and not a date where he third wheels you two, so that means I can make sure he doesn't do anything that'll make you hate him." Tam smiled.

"I mostly made it a double date because I knew Fitz would refuse the idea of me third-wheeling and that Tam would erm... he wouldn't be happy if I did that." Keefe said.
"Well I'm just glad Tam is here to make sure you don't do anything stupid." Fitz sighed out.

"Moving on, how has everything been between you two anyway?" Tam asked, glancing between Fitz and Dex.
"Do we think that it's going to work this time?"
Fitz and Dex glanced at each other.
"Well, I don't want to speak for Dex, but I think that this time will be... a lot better. I think I'll be able to make Dex feel loved and be the best that I can be for him." Fitz said, looking at Tam.
Dex smiled and he looked at Tam.
"I think this time around, it'll be healthier." Dex said.
"Fitz won't be anxious about people finding out or about his reputation being ruined. It's... it's his maturity that makes me believe that we'll work out and last way longer than we did when we first dated."

Keefe felt himself smile and Tam smiled too.
"We both hope you'll have a happier relationship this time around as well." Tam said.
"Yeah, we really believe that it'll work. Fitz's attitude has definitely changed, and Dex, you are the perfect match for Fitz." Keefe said, looking at Dex.

Fitz and Dex glanced at each other again.
"People keep telling me that we're the perfect match." Dex said, looking at Keefe.
Dex smiled at Fitz, now looking at him.
"And it's just giving me more faith in us."
Fitz couldn't help but smile as he looked at Dex.

Keefe leaned in towards Tam.
"Sometimes my meddling helps." Keefe whispered.
"You didn't really meddle, love, you just spoke the truth." Tam whispered back at Keefe, glancing at him.

*****

"Okayy, we are not going on a double date with Keefe and Tam for a while now." Fitz sighed out.
Dex was leaning against Fitz and Fitz had his arms around Dex, helping him towards his apartment.
"Mmh, Keefe is fun to drink with~" Dex said, his voice slurring slightly.
"Mmhmm, Keefe can be fun to drink with, but the morning after drinking with Keefe isn't!" Fitz exclaimed.
"C'mon..."

Fitz had made it outside of Dex's apartment and he dug through his pocket as he found the key to Dex's apartment. Yes, he had the keys to Dex's apartment because Fitz asked Dex to give them to him when he was beginning to get a little tipsy.

"Keefe and Tam are so cuttee together..." Dex whined.
"They're, like, soooo perfect and... they loveee each other so much..."
"Keefe and Tam are perfect for each other, yeah..." Fitz said, using a hand to keep Dex standing up and using his other hand to unlock the door.
"Now, I need to put you to bed, so c'mon, let's go inside."
Fitz opened the door and he led Dex inside. Fitz shut and locked the door behind him.

"Fitzzyy~?" Dex looked at Fitz, batting his eyes at the male.
"Mmhmm?" Fitz hummed as he continued to help Dex, leading them to Dex's bedroom.
"D'you think you'll get married again??" Dex tilted his head at Fitz.
"Like, to me?"
Fitz smiled, and laughed softly.
"God, you're so drunk." Fitz sighed.
"Dex, we're not even dating yet. Marriage is a long time away for us."

"So, is that a no?" Dex frowned.
Fitz looked at Dex and noticed how disappointed he looked.
"I want to marry you one day." Fitz said.
"I truly do, dear. But you're drunk, we're not officially together, let's talk about marriage when you're sober and we're at least a year into our relationship, okay?"
Dex grumbled in response.
"... I'll take that as an okay. Alright, in we go."

Fitz led Dex into the bedroom and he gently rested Dex into his bed. Fitz took off Dex's boots and cape before Dex laid on his back and he looked up at Fitz who was looking at him with a lot of worry.

"Fitz?" Dex tilted his head at Fitz.
"Mmh?" Fitz smiled.
"Can you sleep with me?" Dex questioned, reaching his hand over and taking Fitz's hands.
Fitz's face turned red.
"D-Dex, uhm, I-?" Fitz began, fumbling with his words.
"Just, lay down next to me... and stay over, please?" Dex looked up to Fitz with puppy dog eyes.
Fitz sighed out in relief and he laughed.

"Fuck, okay... yeah, I can do that. But I'm going to get you something to throw up in just in case you need to, okay?" Fitz asked, running his fingers through his hair.
"Don't take long." Dex said, squeezing Fitz's hand before letting go of it.
Fitz smiled and he leaned in, pecking Dex's forehead.
"I won't."

Well, this was Fitz's second date with Dex and it ended with Dex becoming intoxicated and asking Fitz to sleep over.

Could have gone worse!
