Dex sighed as he just left Slurps and Burps. He needed to get some elixirs he had been meaning to buy. He could have made them himself but... well, he wasn't feeling up to it.

Dex glanced at his bag of elixirs as he began to walk off, heading to the next store he needed to go to.
"Oh, Dex!"
Dex stopped himself and he looked behind to see Fitz. Dex raised his eyebrows as Fitz made his way over.

"Hey, Fitz." Dex managed a smile at Fitz.
"Been a few days."
Fitz smiled back at Dex.
"Erm, yeah. How you been? Things all good with Wyatt?" Fitz asked, tilting his head.
Dex shrugged.
"Yeah, uhmm... I've been a bit all over the place. Work is tiring, and Wyatt and I broke up but we're on good terms since we work together so-" Dex began.

"You and Wyatt broke up?" Fitz furrowed his eyebrows.
"But you guys seemed... happy..."
Dex bit his tongue.
"I recall we used to be happy before you randomly broke up with me." Dex smiled at Fitz.
Fitz instantly cleared his throat and looked away from Dex.
"... Sorry. No, we like each other's company and stuff, I mean like I said, we're on good terms. We're still friends. I just... Like I said, I'm all over the place. "Dex said, shrugging.

"How are you?"
Fitz sighed.
"Elowyn is sick. So I decided to go to Slurps and Burps for some medicine." Fitz said.
"Does Elowyn know the medicine is made from a peasant?" Dex smiled.
Fitz couldn't help but smile.
"Nope. She thinks it's from some fancy apothecary, and she loves Kesler's elixirs...she would murder me if she knew." Fitz said.
"Loving wife of yours." Dex raised his eyebrows.

"Uh, so do you go to Slurps and Burps often?"
Fitz bit his inner cheek.
"Not often. Every now and then I go for elixirs. Your dad... he doesn't seem to hate me, which I thought he would. I mean... because of our past, but he still acts super nice to me." Fitz shrugged.
Dex sighed softly.
"Yeah, probably because he also loved it when you were around." Dex said, fiddling with his bag of elixirs.
"My father can't hold grudges for very long."
Fitz smiled.

"... My mother often misses you." Fitz stated.
"Uhm... sorry if this sounds weird, but do you remember that vase you made for me and how I gave it to her?"
Dex blinked and he reluctantly nodded. "Yeah...?"
"She's kept that thing. And when I moved into my new place with Elowyn, she gave it to me as a housewarming gift." Fitz grinned nervously.
Dex felt a smile grow on his face.

"Lady Della always seems to love me." Dex shrugged.
"And it seems she always thought I was the one for you."
Fitz looked at Dex and Dex instantly brought his hands up and shook them.
"Ah! Sorry! I'm getting ahead of myself! Sorry!"
Dex looked away from Fitz and Fitz felt himself smile.
"... My mother likes to ask Biana how you've been." Fitz said quietly.
"So, yeah. She still loves you."

"Ah, I should really get that medicine..." Fitz sighed.
"Is business bad at Slurps and Burps by the way? Any time I visit, I swear the elixir and medicines are way more lusters than they were before."
Dex blinked.
"... Oho~ my dad has been scamming you." Dex grinned.
Fitz raised his eyebrows.
"I-? What?" Fitz huffed.
Dex laughed.

"Pfft! Haha! I'll go in with you. Maybe my dad will let you pay the original prices if he sees we've made up." Dex said, instantly going back to the shop.
"Oh, you're not busy-?" Fitz began.
"I'm a Mentor and recently broke up with someone. Of course I'm not busy." Dex rolled his eyes at Fitz.
Fitz couldn't help but smile as he followed Dex behind into the shops.

"Dad! Quit scamming on poor Fitz!" Dex scowled as he entered the store.
Kesler blinked as he looked over at his son and Fitz who was behind him.
"Uh, I have no idea what you're talking about!" Kesler grinned nervously at Dex.
Dex made his way to the counter and he leaned against it.
"Dad... be honest. Have you been overpricing stuff to Fitz cause he broke my heart all those years ago?" Dex questioned, tilting his head.

Kesler looked at Fitz.
"Well... Good afternoon Lord Fitz~." Kesler grinned at the Vacker male, ignoring his son.
"... Good afternoon Kesler. I'm glad to know you've been getting your revenge on me by making me pay you more lusters than needed." Fitz said.
"Well, you understand, don't you? My poor Dexter was in tears for days! It was heartbreaking to witness!" Kesler frowned.

Dex scoffed and he rolled his eyes.
"Quit it. That was the past. Fitz and I are on okay grounds now." Dex said, staring at his father.
"So, maybe you could also pay Fitz back all that extra lusters he paid-?"
"Nah, he can keep them." Fitz shrugged as he went towards a shelf behind him and grabbing an elixir.
"Huh?"
Both Kesler and Dex stared at Fitz.

Fitz turned around and he placed the elixir on the counter. Fitz smiled at Kesler.
"Can you get me a bottle of medicine?" Fitz asked.
"The wife sick again?" Kesler raised his eyebrows as he turned around to grab the bottle of medicine from behind.
Dex glanced between his father and Fitz. The two of them seemed to talk as if they were friends.
"She's blaming it on Keefe and Tam's wedding and for holding it outside at the beach. Even though it was quite pleasant weather." Fitz sighed as Kesler rung up the products.
"Mmh... 4 lusters, my boy." Kesler said, grabbing a plastic bag and packing away the bottles.

Dex tilted his head at his father.
"You still call him that? When he's a grown man?" Dex raised his eyebrows.
"He doesn't mind!" Kesler exclaimed.
"Do you, Lord Fitzroy?"
"It's better than Lord Fitzroy." Fitz sighed as he paid for the bottles.
Dex couldn't help but smile.

"I keep forgetting you're an Emissary, Lord Fitz." Dex said, gently elbowing Fitz.
"If you're gonna call me Lord Fitz, I will start calling you Sir Dex." Fitz said, raising an eyebrow at Dex.
"Eugh, don't even." Dex rolled his eyes.
Fitz grinned at Dex.

Kesler watched his son and Fitz interact with each other and he felt himself smile.
"I'm glad you two boys have made up." Kesler said.
"Well, he hasn't exactly said sorry to me for being an asshole." Dex said, looking at his dad.

"I have time right now, can I take you out for some coffee? My treat?" Fitz offered, looking at Dex.
"Oh, but can you be seen around an outcast?" Dex asked in a teasing tone as he looked at Fitz.
Fitz huffed.
"Don't be an idiot. C'mon. We only have a good half hour before Elowyn will nag at me." Fitz said.

Fitz took the bag of the bottles he bought from the counter and he smiled at Kesler.
"Kesler, glad to know you scammed me for the sake of your son." Fitz said.
"Haha, Dex is important to me, Lord Fitz. You should know. You always take your family's side and you never show mercy to the people they have a grudge against, because you love them and want them to be happy." Kesler smiled at Fitz.

Fitz cleared his throat.
"Uh, yeah, we're gonna get going. Bye dad." Dex said, waving at his dad as he tugged at Fitz's cape to get going.
"Bye Dex." Kesler waved back at his son as he watched him leave with Fitz.

"So, apparently your dad can hold grudges against someone for so long when it comes to you, or his family." Fitz said, in a low voice as he elbowed Dex.
"Seems like it. But if the prices ever feel fishy again, just hail me and I'll scold him." Dex sighed.
Fitz nodded and hummed. "Mmhmm...will do."

"So, are you going to take me out to a fancy café or~?"
"Mmh... you'll just have to see."
