Fred's POV:

""Dig in, idiots," Fred declared with a playful grin, setting down a heaping plate of food on the table before taking a seat across from his brothers. George pushed his plate away with a grimace, while Ron looked distinctly green as he gingerly nibbled on a piece of toast. "Left me on a bloody bench," Ron grumbled, his annoyance evident.

Fred, undeterred, pointed his spoon at Ron, ready to defend himself. "That was Ginny, not us," he retorted with a smirk, knowing full well his sister's penchant for mischief. Meanwhile, George's attention briefly shifted as Daphne strolled by, deep in conversation with Astoria. His hand started to raise instinctively for a wave, only to drop back to the table as he realized she wouldn't reciprocate.

"She's a Death Eater, mate. It's better this way," Ron interjected, his tone tinged with concern. George shot him a sharp glare, his expression a mix of frustration and defiance, before abruptly rising from his seat and leaving the Great Hall without a word, his emotions too raw to engage in further discussion.

Fred's eyes narrowed slightly at Ron's comment, but he chose to keep his response light, deflecting with a teasing tone. "But look at her. Can you blame him?" he quipped, a hint of mischief dancing in his eyes. Ron's gaze hardened at the implication, his protective instincts flaring.

"And what about you and Nyx?" Ron pressed, his voice tinged with genuine concern. Fred hesitated for a moment, his playful demeanor faltering briefly before he plastered on a nonchalant smile. "Seriously, you're being an ass. See you at practice," he said, dismissing Ron's probing question with a casual wave of his hand.

Grabbing two crescents from the table, Fred rose from his seat and followed his twin out of the Great Hall, leaving Ron to ponder the complexities of relationships and loyalties amidst the backdrop of their tumultuous world.
