Jason slowed the car. He would have to ditch it as soon as he could. It was known to the police now. His mind spun as his temper rose. How could she be alive? He couldn’t understand how she had survived his blow to the head. Her pulse was gone when he left her dead in that blizzard. Now both the Coledens were alive, the police knew who he was, and what he looked like and it wouldn’t be long before they tied him to the Copeland murder and the insurance fraud. “Damn and blast!” He shouted as he pounded the steering wheel. This couldn’t get worse.
As he entered the city he drove to a neighborhood known for its crime. As he lit his car ablaze no one even noticed. Anyone who did wouldn’t say so. It was just that type of hood. No one noticed anything and no one talked about what they noticed. Retaliation was swift and severe in this area. He huddled deeper into his hoodie and disappeared into an ally. Death was too good for the Coledens now. He wanted them alive. Alive and suffering.♠
