manny was currently on his way to drop off baby's food. she was upset she couldn't have seafood so she settled for some wings and fries. manny didn't get anything for himself as he had been stressing about his situation with his new little family.

amani hadn't spoken to manny or baby since the meeting was called at their house. baby relayed to manny that her mother was ignoring her, tension was high in the house and manny didn't want baby living like that for the rest of her pregnancy. the plan was to wait until she turned 18 to move her out of the house; legally.

as manny approached he called baby to tell her to come to the car and grab the food. he was unsure if her mom was home and wanted to address her mother later down the line, everything was way too fresh to even attempt to reconcile the relationship he had with her mother

"hello" her butter soft voice answered the phone, music to his ears always

"i'm outside, you want me ta come ta da door?" he proposed

"yes, come inside" she replied as she hung up. he realized her mother must've been at work. he parked his car in front of their house and made his way to the door with the food in hand. before he could knock, the door swung on its hinges revealing a lounging baby. she had on baby pink pajama pants and a white shirt. you couldn't tell she was pregnant, but manny knew so her stomach felt harder than it ever did when he hugged her. she pulled away and found his face, matching it with a smile.

"i missed you papi" she said as she pecked his lips

"i missed you more" he said as he held her hand and followed her inside. he could feel himself starting to harden up, they hadn't had sex in sometime due to the chaos that erupted in their lives; they haven't had the time. manny soon realized baby was pulling him to the living room where he was met with amani, who had an unsure look on his face.

"come sit" baby said as she sat her bag of wings on the ground and patted the seat next to her. "i'm not eating until y'all talk it out, so start talking" she said

"wassup" manny said as he looked at a unfazed amani

"we got a lot of shit to discuss"

"whatchu wanna know?" manny asked as he leaned backwards, resting his backside on the soft couch

"first, why you ain't tell me you got baby pregnant?" he asked, betrayal laced in his voice

"i ain't know, i found out two days befo yall and she told me she wanted to tell you ha self. i wanted to respect my lady's wishes" he responded truthfully

"aight, how you ain't know she was gonna get pregnant when you was fucking her raw? nutting in her? you ain't kno"

"amani-" baby tried to cut in. manny just smiled and left out a few light laughs

"mane, ha ass was on birth control and that shit don't work" he looked over at baby, "tell em"

"i was on birth control, it just stopped working after a while i guess and it happened. it wasn't planned" baby defended her man

amani slowly nodded his head as he took in all this information. "you told ha ta keep it?" he questioned some more

"nah, i ain't say nun she said she wanted to keep my baby and das what we doing" manny simply responded. keeping it terse

"you engaged to ha afta da baby?" amani pried, genuinely curious

"nah befo, when we was back in texas"

"why y'all ain't tell me?" amani raised his voice a little, shocked at how long he went without noticing that fat ass ring on baby's finger

"you wanna tell 'em?" manny turned to the girl

"i told manny not to tell you cause i thought you was gonna tell ma" she said as she looked down playing with her fingers— her nervous coping mechanism.

"youn think she too young fa dis?" amani seemed to ask himself and the pair, "like think if dis was me and niya, you wouldn't be mad if you feel like a nigga tryna rush yo baby sista into adulthood?" he reasoned

"i would be a little tight, it depends on da man doe. like you said, if it was you i wouldn't mind cause i kno you got ha, she safe. and i wish you would give me da same curtsey of knowin i got ha" he started "baby ain't ask fa dis, i ain't ask fa dis, we jus fell in love. and i kno we young, her especially, but dat don't change how i feel about ha. i love baby like i been on this earth for 100 years and have loved nothing else, dis really my everything and i jus wish y'all trusted me" he admitted

"it's not that ion trust you, you kno you like my brotha and i love y'all togetha. i'm jus worried y'all gon kill what y'all got befo the shit even take off tryna move too fast" amani explained his side

"i can understand dat, but think about all the happy married couples who met in middle and highschool. it's possible and jus cause i ain't come from a two parent household don't mean i ain't serious about dis. or i don't plan on sticking around. at da end of the day i'm a man, i need to take care of a woman, and the woman i chose was baby. i just got ta ha befo anybody else could" he reasoned

amani suddenly stood up and manny did as well. the two walked up to each other and baby thought all hell was about to break loose before they pulled each other into a hug.

"i'm prouda you, you a real man" amani said as he pounded manny's back.

"thank you, you my brotha, foreal now" manny said as he hugged him back. the two pulled apart once they heard sniffling and turned to see a crying baby on the couch.

"mmcht" they both expressed in unison

"baby you not serious right now" amani said as she watched his sister cry

"i love you guys, i never want you guys to fight you're the two most important people to me" she wiped her tears, "the baby needs y'all" baby said as she hungrily ripped into her bag of wings. the boys stared at baby as she smiled back.
