{Plot 3}• CHÄPTÊR XIII

Slowly I let her down, keeping my hands on her waist I placed her carefully on her feet and watched as she turned away to grab her gown.

She took her time slipping into her gown before adding the second layer, she needed to be laced up and the ribbon at her back was too low for her to reach by herself. I had to resist the urge to pinch her cheeks or completely devour her lips. I pressed a kiss to the side of her head, loving the way her eyes lit up and she got comfortable against me.
"We're not leaving here anytime soon are we?" She sighed with a smile.

I replied with a chuckle but she was right. We had only gotten out of my chambers after a some more minutes and by the time we'd reached the gazebo our breakfast had been covered up and they needed to be heated. Unfortunately I didn't have time to eat with Audrey as the Jigalians had sent a rider to lead my escorts and I to the location we were supposed to have our meeting. I hated not being able to spend breakfast with my little one but I was sure as hell going to make up for the time we would spend apart. I stopped in front of my horse, turning around to see Audrey walking up to me with a sad little pout on her lips. Maximus remained in the corner, giving a curt nod before walking off to allow us some privacy to say our goodbyes. The journey was a couple of hours long and we would get there at the early hours of the evening but every hour would feel like days without her. I knew if I dwelled too much on the fact that I won't be able to smell her tantalizing scent nor touch her soft skin I would probably grab onto her and take her with me. Definitely would and the thought didn't seem so unreasonable as my eyes peaked at the hickies I had given her, her dress did little to cover it up. Her hair had been braided, a few strands framing her beautiful face, the face that was etched in the stones of my mind and heart to be taken everywhere and reminisced every time I closed my eyes.

Giving the coach a signal I met Audrey half way, opening my arms for her I ushered her in with just three words but they were enough to make her cheeks color and her feet to move faster. "Come here baby"

She flung her hands around my neck and mine wound posessively around her waist. I let my head fall into the crook of her neck where I inhaled her scent deeply, feeling my resolve begin to shrivel. "I'll miss you" she whispered softly under her breath, just loud enough for my ears to hear. I placed a kiss to her cheek before pulling back enough to look into her saddened gaze. She managed to crack a smile as she pulled her hands from my neck and only now did I realise she had one of her hands immersed in a little white flower patterned glove.

Slowly she pulled it from her hand and stuffed it in my big ones, her cheeks coloring at how much it shrunk in my rough palms. "I don't know how long you'll be gone for and I don't want you getting all scary. I won't be there to calm you down so I want you to use this" I followed her gaze to stare at the glove in my hand. I couldn't help but grin like a little teen wolf at her. "I knitted it myself so I think it has my scent on it" she raised her eyes to meet mine and the color on her cheeks deepened as she registered the stupid grin on my face. "Y-you could keep it close to you and it would be like I-im right there with you" she finished, biting down shyly on her lower lip.

"Thank you so much baby" I pressed lingering kiss to the tip of her nose, loving how it went red immediately after. "I'll keep this with me the whole time and I'll miss you too my love" I held onto the nape of her neck, guiding her lips to mine where I connected our lips. Her deliciously addictive taste filling my mouth and I groaned in satisfaction as her hands slipped to my chest and she responded with little noises all the while her lips tried to move against mine but I easily dominated the kiss. I slid my tongue into her mouth easily and she granted me access. I dragged my tongue against hers, tangling them together in a hot dance. I bit down on her lower lip, skimming my teeth over it and sucking on her tongue hard. I proceeded to taste ever crevice and cover of her mouth, going absolutely feral for her euphoric taste.

As much as I dreaded it I pulled back, knowing if it went any further I would go ahead with the plan Phoenix had come up with to take Audrey with us. When I gazed back at her I felt the last very thin line of my resolve snap. Her lips were slightly parted as she tried to catch her breath, the bridge of her nose supported a deep blush and her lips were swollen and looked even more inviting. Her eyes were transfixed on my lips and I knew she wanted more, it was clear as day in her eyes.

"Don't worry Audrey, I'll makes sure he doesnt bite anyone's head off" Ryker walked up to us and our gazes snapped to his direction and I could tell by the way he shrunk back that he could see the thick mist of sexual tension floating above our heads. "I'll go check if the coach is um..ready" he took a bow before hurrying off.

I glanced back at Audrey, taking her hand in mine I placed a kiss to her knuckles, Making sure I held her gaze. "I'll make up for every second I spend away from you when I get back. Bye my love"

She pressed a kiss to my cheek before I pulled away, already hating every second ahead. As I mounted my horse and the coach announced our departure I glanced back at Audrey's decreasing form and just stared at her till we were out of the metal gates and they were closed behind us. I faced forward, watching as we got further and further away from the palace. Ryker rode up to my side, pulling out an object from his saddle pouch and stretching it towards me.

"I saw that at a shop on sale. I recognized it as Lord Odin's watch, it had his Lordship crest on it. The sales boy called his boss upon my request and I asked how he had gotten it" he informed, his demeanor completely changed to a serious one.

All the emotion in my face had disappeared as well as I regarded the pocket watch Ryker had placed in my hand, "What did she have to say?"

"He told us he got it from the bottom of the lake and when he showed us which lake it was, it happened to be the same one Lord Odin's body was dragged out of. There was no one at the spot who bore witness to Lord Odin's arrival so he never really went there" I furrowed my brows as I stared off into the distance deep in thought.

That meant that my suspicions bore no fruit. I should be happy that there was no ultimate master mind behind this and it was all over but I couldn't help but still think there was more to it. More to it all. But for the time being I decided to let it go and face the matter at hand; Getting the Jigalians to release those grains as fast as possible, negotiate and get back to my little one.
