Chapter 5

“Oh, Melons.”

***

ANNA’S POV

Language came after the break and we’ve introduced ourselves in front of everyone like what we did from the first subject. And I also mimicked what I had said for my short introduction.

Despite the teasing and mocking that I’d received as they spoke in English, (since they already assume I could not understand them) I ignored them completely. The teacher just slips it out and hushed his class strictly.

Another subject came after that and the usual happen again. Until we’ve reached the last of our subject, all we have to do was introduce ourselves while our teacher spoke about themselves.

I think it’s for the sake of the new students… namely myself.

The class ended after awhile, students walked away with their respective groups while I sighed and stay while I wait for them to evaporate completely… well, to leave I mean.

I looked up when I hear someone calling my name. I’m still not used with my new name, if you must ask.

I saw the weird guy smiling at me. With that guy with blue hair next to him.

Great

“Yo, Anna-san,” He greeted. “I hope we are not disturbing you,”

 “What do you want?” (Japanese)

I saw the blue guy flashed his cheeky grin while the weird guy flashed his awkward smile. “Uhmm,”

“Miel, mukhang mataray tong isang to,” The blue-haired guy muttered.

I saw him nudge the guy before he cleared his throat. “Well, I just want you to meet my friend. I mentioned him to you - my Japanese friend - if you could remember? Since you’re still new here, it may be convenient if you have few companions to start with, ne? You’ll soon gain enough friends, don’t worry. Hehe. And since you’re still not used in our native language, I thought that we could help you…” He patted the back of the blue-haired guy. “…and this guy in particular, since he’s one of your country men… ne?”

I looked at the blue-haired as he nodded his head. “Hai,” Then his cheeky smile turned into a frown as he leaned to the other guy slightly. “Miel, naiintindihan ka ba niyan? ‘Di ba yung adjective lang hindi niya alam, yun pang sinabi mong pagka-haba haba?”

“Believe it or not, she can,” He pondered for awhile. “Hmm… Para siyang ako, nakakaintindi pero hindi nakakapag-salita ng fluent.” He continued before turning to me and offered his grin again.

I simply stared at them, quite amused.

So, this guy was trying to help me gain friends. I suppose this friendly approach of him belonged to his long list of task of having the position of the school’s President.

How nice of him. I said that sarcastically.

“Weh? Di nga?” The blue haired guy raised his brow. “Eh bakit hindi siya nag-rereact sa sinasabi ni Joyanne at nung teacher natin kanina?”

“Eh kung sya kaya tanungin mo at hindi ako,” I saw him rolled his eyes while the other guy playfully stuck his tongue out.

The guy with brunette hair glances at me as he apologized. “Sorry if it confuses you, Anna-san, with our Language I mean. You’ll understand it soon enough. Err…” he nudges the other guy suddenly. “Magpakilala ka na,” He whispered.
