“Oh honey, you know you want to come with me,” he shoots me a grin at his obvious double meaning and I just want to smack that look off of his face. He puts his hand on my arm, butt I quickly shove it away.
“Don’t touch what you can’t afford,” I growl out. He laughs and moves his body closer to me. Out of the corner of my eye I can see Vi trying to shove the shorter guy off as he keeps pressing himself up against her. That son of a bitch! I push the shorter guy’s head away and slam my elbow into the chest of the guy in front of me. “Back the hell off!” He doesn’t listen and moves even closer to me. I start to panic and are about to bring my knee up to the guy’s family jewels when he is pulled away.
The guy almost falls on his ass which I totally wish happened. He whips around and yells “What the hell man?” at my savior.
“What the fuck do you think you are doing?! Leave my girlfriend the hell alone!” My eyes flicker over to Seth’s face. He is pissed off. His eyes are practically bugging out of his head, and I am pretty sure that vein is not supposed to be popping out of his head like that. I try to focus on the situation at hand, but it is a little hard to when he just said girlfriend. He walks around to me and loops his arm around my shoulder. Immediate sparks shoot through my body and I freeze. After a couple of seconds they don’t stop but I try to loosen up a little so that I don’t look like a robot. I place my arm around him and splay my hands on his back. I’m so close to him that I can tell that he smells like mint which leads me to his mint green eyes. All the sudden I feel like I am going to melt into a puddle.
God, when did I become so sappy?
“Seriously, get your drunk fat asses away from my girlfriend!” Tuckett yells.
Oh, thank god that he pulled the shorter guy off Vi. I feel awful about thinking about Seth before her, but I am glad to see that she is okay. She is practically shivering in Tuckett’s arms and I can see that she is about five seconds away from sobbing. I want to go to my friend but Seth is almost shaking with anger and I want to keep the him from doing something stupid.
The tall guy turns to his friend and says something that I didn’t hear, but from the way that Seth’s hands are shaking, I am guessing that it is something bad.
Without really thinking about it, I slide my arm that is not around his back to his other arm and then down to his hand. I gently pry his fingers that are extremely tense away from his palm and intertwine his fingers with mine. Surprisingly he does not push my hand away, but clasps it tighter.
The two guys stalk off into the crowd and I let out a breath of relief. I turn my head up to Seth and our eyes meet. It’s like those cheesy romance novels that my mom reads that are all ‘their eyes meet across the room.’ But seriously, I feel a little taken aback right now! I look into his mint eyes and I don’t look away, and neither does he. I want to reach up and run my fingers through his messy brown hair that I am guessing is windswept form riding with the windows down in his truck.
He is wearing dark jeans with boots and a dark green shirt with his leather jacket on top of it. I want nothing more than to shuck his jacket and t-shirt off of him so that I can see what’s under there.
Oh christ. Someone get me a doctor. I swear I am losing my fucking mind.
My mind clears when I hear Vi sobbing next to me. I break my eyes away from Seth and pull my body away from his. The loss of sparks is immediate, and I want them back.
Tuckett is holding a histerical Vi in his arms and looks extremely uncomfortable. If the situation wasn’t so serious, I would be laughing at his face. He tries to soothingly pat Vi’s back, but she keeps on sobbing. He starts looking like he is about to cry, so I move in to save him and he looks extremely thankful.
