Chapter Nine

Hours slowly tick by, and my heart continues to yearn for my lost love. Marie is still lingering on the edge of my thoughts. Her lovely eyes still pierced my very soul straight through to my heart. A sigh passed my lips, I could feel her arms wrapped around me.

Oh, how I longed to hold her against my heart.

As I sit at the grand piano in the main foyer, I play a sad melody for our unrequited love. A love forced up art by jealousy and greed.

I would not soon forget the day she was stolen away from me. Nor the man who is responsible for everything. 

My hands move with the grace of a panther across the ivory white keys. I've written so many songs dedicated to her on this piano. She would always sit next to me and lay her head upon my shoulder as I sang.

The memory of her hand reaching to still my movements sent a chill down my spine, my eyes slowly falling closed as my fingers continued to dance along the keys. My sweet love, how I long for your return. Yet it was not possible, unless a miracle was to occur.

Even if it happened, I am no longer of this world. 

The day she was stolen away, I was cursed by the same man who attacked that fateful day. A cruel and jealous man, who had eyes on my dear Marie. He dared to say if he couldn't have her, then no one would. He vowed to keep us separated for eternity. 

I had to clue as to his whereabouts, nor did I truly care. I did want to avenge her, don't get me wrong. Marie wouldn't want me to go as far as to even the score.

My fingers tremble as I struggle to shut the memories away to the deepest recesses of my mind. A tear slowly crept down my cheek as I began to hum the song I had written for us so long ago. I can almost hear her singing along.
