CHAPTER 16

"We need to hurry up or it will be too late"

I said while looking at Mrs. Harris who was looking around confused. Lucas looked at Mrs. Harris then looked at the nurse.

"Could you contact the family?"

"No, Dr. Davies, no one answered the phone, they didn't even call back"

I sighed before looking at Mrs. Harris. I told her she had a brain tumor, but then she forgot it.

"I'll do the surgery"

"You can't do it without permission from the family"

I looked at Lucas seriously before saying

"I don't care! Right now my patients needs surgery"

"Who will take the resp-"

"I'll take responsibility if anything happens"

I looked at the nurse while she looked at me nervously.

"Call nurse Amanda and get the surgery room ready"

"Bur Dr. Assad-"

"Now!"

She didn't say anything and went to get the surgery room ready.

"Muskan you shouldn't take the cha-"

"I will, and no one will stop me"

I went to get ready for surgery while thinking about Mrs. Harris family.

I threw my head back while sitting on the chair. I was in the surgery room for the last 3 hours, and alhamdulillah, it was successful. I looked at the time and sighed, it was already 1 am, and I was damn tired after the surgery.

The door opened as Lucas walked in.

"How did the surgery go?"

"Good"

He didn't say anything more and sat at his desk.

"I checked on Sofie"
"Did something happen?"

He shook his head and smiled a little. .

"No, I was checking on Daniel, and took a look at Sofie just to be sure everything was fine"

"Thank you"

I said while standing up. I looked at my phone when it started ringing, I smiled while looking at the caller id. I quickly answer the call and put my phone on my ear.

"Hello?"

"Hello meri jaan, how are you doing?"

I sighed, feeling bad when I heard his tired voice.

"You... didn't sleep yet"

He chuckled before answering

"I can't sleep without hearing your voice and seeing you"

"I'm sorry, I was in surgery-"

"You didn't don't need to apologize jaan"

I smiled and took my phone away from my ear before clicking on the camera. Under 1 second he answered the call and smiled when he looked at me, but it didn't last long.

"You look tired"

"I am a little tired"

He sighed before sitting up.

"You need to take care of yourself"

"I will don't worry"

"Did you ear?"
