In my school, it was a normal thing for us to close early on Fridays. However, since it was revision week, we closed pretty early each day and even earlier on Fridays.

So, as at 1:00pm, the closing bell had been rung and the students had all dispersed to their various homes.

Because of the plans to go to Unilag right after school, I and Ade didn't spend too much time at home. As soon as we got home, we changed our clothes and headed straight for the Unilag sports centre.

As soon as we got to the main gate, Ade decided to call Jordan, so we would know if he still wanted to come or not.
Actually, I literally had to compel Ade to call him since I have no phone.

After he agreed to call him, they spoke for a while before Ade turned to inform me that Jordan said he was on his way and that he'd soon get to Unilag.
Right after that, I and Ade decided to wait for him at the pathway in front of the main gate.

After about ten minutes, I noticed a navy blue Toyota Avalon pulling up. I didn't pay much attention to it because it was just one out of the numerous cars dropping passengers in front of the main gate. However, not long after, the door of the car opened and Jordan stepped out.

I watched his lips move as he turned to talk to the driver.

Was that his personal driver? If not then, it had to be a random Uber or Bolt driver.

After speaking to the driver, the car drove off. Then, Jordan brought out his phone from his pocket and focused on it. He was probably making a call because right after, he placed the phone on his ear.

Immediately, Ade's phone rang where he stood, beside me.

Everything had happened so fast that I didn't even think about telling Ade that I had seen Jordan, not until the piercing sound of the phone's ringtone filled the air.
So, I pointed towards Jordan and tapped Ade so he could notice that Jordan was now here.
"He's here", I said, loud enough for him to hear, over Jordan's voice from the other end of the call.
"Ade, he's here", I repeated after noticing that he didn't hear me initially.
So, he turned to face me and realized that I was pointing towards a particular direction.

He then followed the direction I was pointing towards with his eyes and as soon as his eyes landed on Jordan, he smiled.

Jordan looked like he was still trying to get through to us as he clicked the screen of his phone and placed his phone on his ear. He also looked like he was scanning the area too.
I and Ade crossed the tarred road and walked towards Jordan while Ade's phone kept vibrating as a result of Jordan's calls.

However, just as we almost got to him, he noticed us too.
So, he also walked towards us and we met in the middle.
When he got to us, he took Ade's hand in a firm handshake and gave me a side hug.

Then, we all walked towards the sports center.
Initially, it was hella awkward, but then, Ade started making small talks.

"So...you didn't tell me that Ewatomi already went back to school", he said.
"Wait... I didn't?", I said, genuinely surprised.
He shook his head, indicating that I really didn't tell him.

Jordan, who was right next to him, didn't say anything. Actually, he seemed far too enchanted by the sights.

He had never been to Unilag until now, so it was a big thing for him.
"Wow! I thought I did", I said.
"She only stayed for three days", I added.
"Oh...", Ade trailed off.

"What about daddy?", he said.
"He has gone for a contract. He'll be back tomorrow", I said.
"Oh...okay", he said.

After a few minutes of walking in silence and checking out the buildings, we eventually got to the sports centre.
"Is that...is that really where you want to sprint?", Jordan said, after managing to close his initially dropped jaw.
