16: New Obstacles.

Chenle had made up his mind about Sohee. He was scared but he wanted to try, for the first time ever, actually try to care about someone other than himself.

His parents were out of the house for business as usual so Jaemin stayed with him for few days. Of course that meant that he annoyed Chenle with the topic of Sohee and his feelings for her, but it helped him decide what to do about it.

Him and Sohee haven't talked the whole weekend. They both picked up their phones many times to text each other, but none of them did.

He was excited to see her at school, during their math class, so he tried extra hard to look good. After all, it was his first time asking someone out on a date.

Haeri wouldn't give Sohee a break when it came to Chenle. She talked and talked about how the girl should take a chance and see how things would go. After all; her and the pink haired boy didn't know each other that well to speak of a relationship or anything, but a date would be a great start.

Sohee knew that Haeri had a good point. They only really met either during math class - where they couldn't talk, or at the library which also wasn't the best place for chitchat or flirting - though it looked like Chenle had a different opinion on that one and made Sohee fall for him pretty quickly.

She wanted to see how Chenle would act during their math class because she needed to see his attitude towards her before she made any move.

She put on one of her most elegant pieces of clothing, curled her hair and head out to school.

The two boy best friends were few of the students who got to the class early which made some of them look at them weirdly since it was a rare sight.

The pink haired one tapped his foot under the desk, getting nervous. Jaemin giggled at how cute his best friend was acting and tried to show him support.

He furrowed his brows, focusing on something. "Is that a new guy or something? I've never seen him before." Chenle pointed to a boy with longer, black hair and blonde undercut talking with the teacher.

Jaemin shrugged. "I guess? I haven't seen him before either."

Chenle didn't think much of it and his mind went back to Sohee. He sat up right when he saw her walk into the classroom and couldn't help but smile softly, seeing her pretty outfit and styled hair.

Sohee bowed to the teacher and then glanced at Chenle. She immediately noticed his warm smile which made the corners of her mouth lift up too.

She began walking towards her desk with her eyes locked on the pink haired boy, so she didn't see that someone was in her way. "Oh , I'm so sorry!" she shouted as she kneeled down to pick up pieces of paper that fell out of someone's hands.

"It's ok, it's not a big deal."

She heard a unique voice and before she could look up to see who it belonged to, the boy had already kneeled down in front of her.

Their eyes met and she realized she didn't know who it was. "Oh? Are you new?"

He nodded.

"I hope you'll like it here. I'm sohee."

The boy smiled at her softly yet intimidatingly. "Renjun. Nice to meet you."

Sohee smiled and the two finished picking up the pieces of paper.

Chenle had watched the whole thing from his desk and couldn't help but clench his jaw, watching the girl he liked smile so prettily to someone other than him.

Sohee glanced at Chenle as she walked towards her desk, but that time he wasn't looking at her anymore and his smile was nowhere to be found. She furrowed her brows but sat down and got ready for class.

The teacher asked for everyone's attention and introduced the new guy - Renjun. "Where should we sit you?" the teacher looked around the classroom.

"Oh you have got to be kidding me." Chenle mumbled under his breath, seeing that the seat next to Sohee was empty.

"You can sit with Sohee." the teacher pointed and the new student nodded.

He smiled to Sohee since they had already met and Chenle wasn't happy at that sight.
