Chenle had to assist someone else at the library for the next few days as it said in the schedule. It wasn't a surprise that he hated it even more since he couldn't take any pleasure from it, considering the girl that made it somewhat fun wasn't there to play with.

He saw Sohee every now and then around the school but didn't want to act too quickly and in front of so many people he disliked. The two greeted each other sometimes or just shared a look and that was it.

Of course, Jaemin didn't stop himself from teasing his best friend every chance he got but the boy just brushed it off.

Sohee was avoiding the subject of the school's bad boy as much as she could, making Haeri shut up about it - something that was hard for her to do since she found the whole story of the two very entertaining and exciting.

Sohee spread her arms in the air and exhaled loudly. "It's almost friday."

"What do you say we make ourselves a little pre-friday?"

"What do you mean?"

"Let's go out to eat and have some beer."

Sohee whined.

"Oh come on, you know I've been trying to lose weight so I haven't drank beer in so long! Please I really want some beer, I deserve it after working so hard." Haeri flashed her puppy eyes and pouty lips which worked on Sohee quickly.

"Fine, but not too much! I can't get drunk, I have few classes tomorrow but a longer schedule at the library."

"Fine, fine, let's go!"

📚

Sohee wanted to kick Haeri's ass for making her drink more than she was supposed to but then again, she should've known better since she knew her best friend of 6 years very well.

She didn't put any thought into her looks since she felt way too hungover. An oversized hoodie, sweatpants, vans, messy hair, no makeup and a mask was the answer.

Chenle knew that his friday's schedule was with Sohee so he decided to go all out on his looks

Math was the first class of that day and Chenle knew he would see Sohee there too, and he wasn't mistaken. He walked in with his best friend right beside him - as always - and noticed something strange.

The girl that was usually up and ready for the class was lying her head down on her extended arm over the whole desk. Chenle walked past her without saying or doing anything as he wondered what was going on with her.

Jaemin watched his best friend closely, noticing a bit of worry painting all over Chenle's face as his eyes kept locked on the girl.

The teacher came in and the door slamming made the girl flinch. She immediately straightened up on the chair and opened her notebook. Chenle saw how she kept on reaching for water bottle and chugging almost all of it quickly. After awhile, she began to move around in her seat which caught his attention even more.

She suddenly raised her hand. "Can I go to the bathroom?"

The teacher let her without much thought and the girl ran out of the classroom.

Chenle didn't think twice and raised his hand as well, asking the teacher the same question to which he said yes too but not as easily.

The pink haired boy walked out of the classroom and Jaemin shook his head. "'Playing with her' my ass."

Chenle looked around the hallway as soon as he closed the door behind him. He walked towards the girl's bathroom when he heard the door closing, realizing it must've been Sohee. He quickly ran to a vending machine and bought a bottle of water.

After few minutes, the girl finally left the bathroom and was startled by someone standing right outside. "You scared me."

Chenle handed her a bottle of water. "Take this."

"I'm fine." she wanted to walk past the boy but he grabbed her arm.

"Take this, I think you need it more than I do."

"Since when do you care?"

"Will you just take the damn water?"

Sohee sighed and grabbed it from his hand. "Thanks."

Chenle didn't say a word and suddenly put his palm over the girl's forehead. She widened her eyes at his gesture but just stood still like she waited for his next move.

"You're burning up, you should go home."

"I'm fine, I'm just hungover."

"Go home. I'll cover your work at the library."

"What? Did I hear that right?"

Chenle smirked. "Don't make me regret it."

Sohee stared at him as he walked towards the classroom. He turned around and gave the girl a smile, a smile she hadn't seen before. "What's the catch?"

He chuckled. "I don't think you're ready to know yet." he winked and walked in.

She couldn't help but think that that was really nice of him to do, but the unknown catch was something that both worried and excited her, both at the same time.
