Alexis's POV

"Hang on, Lex. Their gonna fix you up." I feel Jakes big hands put me down gently on what feels like soft spongy moss.

It's all very bright so I decide to close my sleepy, sensitive eyes. The feeing of little hairs attaching to my arms radiates through my whole body.

Mo'ats voice feels like it's getting father and father away every second.

Then everything goes white.

My eyes adjust to the bright light and I find myself -as a human- walking up to the old school. I don't even take in the fact that I look completely healthy as am not wearing an oxygen mask. I see Mum in her Avatar body sitting on the front steps.

I decide to sit with her. "Why are we here?" I ask her. She smiles with her sharp teeth and pulls me into a warm hug.

"Darling, your dying. You can't stay here, go back, for Jake." She murmurs into my hair.

I look at her confused. "If I'm dying, then why are you here." A feeling of dread takes over.

She places a large hand on my heart. Eywa decided it was my time. I love you baby, and I'm proud of the woman you have become." I move my -now blue- hand onto the side of her face.

"I want to stay here, with you." My tail slaps around. She chuckles.

"No, I'm not going to allow that. Your an Augustine, we push through all our battles." She shoves me off the steps and points to the forest. "I love you, now go. Run, little bird. Go!" She shouts.

"I love you too!" Tears fall from my eyes and with that I run into the forest. I hear Jakes voice calling to from the shrubs. Trees and ferns start to blur together as I run back the way I came.

Jake's POV

I place Lexi down of the mossy ground, her Avatar mirrors her position.

I make sure her oxygen mask is secured onto her face before I press a light kiss to her palm. "Come on Lexi, you can do this. Come on babe."

Mo'at hovers her hands over her bodies and what looks like little hairs attach themselves to her thin limbs.

Mo'at looks at me. "She must pass through the Eye of Eywa and return, but Jake Sully... she is very weak." She looks sadly upon Lex's body.

"No, she can do this, she has to." I practically beg.

Mo'at starts chanting and so does the other Na'vi.

"Hear us, please, All Mother." She prays.

"Eywa help her." I don't take my eyes off Lexi's face to see what their doing.

"Take this spirit into you... and breathe her back to us. Let her walk among us, as one of The People." Mo'at holds her hands out towards the sky and shouts into the air. Her eyes roll back into her head as she repeatedly chants the same phrase.

She suddenly stops and holds a hand out for everyone else to quiet.

She hovers her hands over Lexi and sighs.

I grab Lex's pale hand with my big one and I look at Mo'at. "Did it work? Lexi come on wake up for me." Neytiri slowly takes off Lexi's mask and I suddenly feel my whole world collapse.

"I'm sorry. Her wounds were too great. She is with Eywa now." I let out a strangled 'no' and I step over to her Avatar. I take her hand and squeeze it. Neytiri's small cries don't go unheard.

"You've really got to stop doing this to me. I need you, I can't do this without you." I get nothing in return, but I'm not giving up this time. "I love you." I whisper. "I've always been in love with you, I will always be in love with you. Which is why you have to stay alive. We- we're- we're gonna get married- "

My voice breaks.

"-and we're gonna have two or three kids. As many as you want. We're gonna be happy, Lex. You and me. Just- come back to me." I lean my forehead against hers and let out a loud sob.
"So you can't die, okay? Cause we're supposed to be together, forever. I love you, I love you."

I faintly feel a little squeeze in my hand. My eyes snap up to her face and I just barely see her eyes moving under her eyelids.

"Lexi?" I ask. This time her pretty yellow eyes emerge and stare right back at me. I hear Tiri and Mo'at gasping at the miracle.

I pull her body flush against mine and I bury my face into her neck. My ears relish the sound of her breathing again. "I saw her Jake, I saw my mother."

"I'm so sorry." I litter her face with kisses. She holds my face in her hands and places a delicate kiss to my tear streaked cheeks. "Thank you Eywa." I tilt my head up to the sky.

I help her stand and she looks sadly down at her frail human body.

Tiri and Mo'at wrap her up in a hug.

"I see you, Lexi." Tsu'tey motions. She smiles at him and returns to my side.

I wrap an arm around her and she moulds perfectly against me.

We turn to Tsu'tey. "With your permission, I will speak now. You would honour me by translating." He nods once. "Thank you, brother."
