The second I unlink I jump out of my pod and run to the bathroom.

I empty whats left in my stomach into the toilet. I feel someone grab my hair and hold it out of the way. I already know who it is.

"Thanks Jake."

"Hey, what's wrong?" He asks, I close the toilet lid and go to the sink to rinse my mouth out.

"It's just a stomach bug." I avoid eye contact.

"What is it really?" He gives me a suspicious look. "I pulled out right?" He jokes. My face turns red and I laugh.

"I'm not pregnant, Jake. It's just a small bug. Don't worry." I smile. He playfully slaps my ass as he leaves the room.

As he shuts the door I let my smile drop. I walk back over to the toilet and open the lid. My frown deepens when I see blood instead of stomach acids.

I flush the toilet and get ready for bed.

Neytiri watches from a distance as Jake and I make our first hunt.

A yerik is munching on some grass up ahead. Jake sees it and sims his bow towards it. He has perfect stance.

Jake makes the kill. Together we jog up to the yerik.

"We see you, brother, and thank you." Jake puts the dying animal out of its misery.

"Your spirit goes with Eywa... but your body stays behind to become part of the People." I finish. Jake removes his arrow and Neytiri praises us.

"Clean kill. Amazing tracking. You are ready." I grin at her words. Jake high fives me.

"The boys will climb to reach the Ikran nest and we will fly." Neytiri throws some kind of meat to her Ikran, Seze. "They left earlier so we'll get to the nest around the same time."

She mounts her first and gives me a hand up.

Together we ride her Ikran all the way to the nest and we land on a cliff side.

I leap off when we land and Jake is the first one I see. I greet the rest with the respective hand gesture. "I see you." They nod back and Neytiri does the same.

Tsu'tey breaks the silence. "Who wants to go first?" He smirks at Jake.

"I will." They all turn to me. Jake shakes his head. "I insist." I walk over to him and I press a kiss to his cheek. "I'll be fine."

Tsu'tey hands me a rope and I shimmy along the edge, I nearly slip on the wet rock.

Peaking my head around he corner I instantly regret my decision. There are probably hundreds of Ikran.

Some see me and fly away.

"Now you choose your Ikran, this you must feel inside." She hovers her hand over my heart. "If it also chooses you, you must move quickly. Like I showed. You will have one chance Lexi. Don't waste it."

"How will I know if it chooses me?" I ask.

"It will try to kill you." For the first time, I'm not scared. I'll be dying anyway.

I move my way through the crows of Ikran. All of them disappear. All but one.

A pink and green Ikran hisses at me like a snake. "Come on!" I give it a loud hiss.

"That one Alexis! It has chosen you!" Tsu'tey shouts.

I tilt my head and move to the side when it snaps it's jaws at me.

I wrap the rope around it's mouth and jump on its back.

I try to wrap my legs around it's head but it moves around wildly. It throws me off and I fall off the edge.

"Lexi!" I hear Jake shout. His voice pushes me to climb back up.

I jump back onto the Ikran and successfully wrap my legs around it's head.  With one hand I connect our heylu's.

"Stop!" I yell. It stops all movement and waits for its next command. I slowly unwrap my legs and remove the rope. It stretches its jaws open before resting them.

I hear cheers from the other Na'vi and Jake. "That's my girl!" I grin at him, he smiles back.

"Go! The first flight seals the bond! You cannot wait. Think fly!" Tsu'tey yells.

"Fly?" My Ikran takes off. "Fly straight!" I yell as we almost crash into the rocks. "Good...boy?" It hisses. Girl. "Good girl." I try and think of a name. "I'll call you Lyd, like Lydia."

I hear a loud whistle from behind me. I turn my head and see Jake. He has a purple and green Ikran.

"Hey!" He tries to wave but nearly falls. He looks like he's covered in water. Did he fly through a water fall?

"What did you name yours?" I shout over the wind.

"Uh... Bob! What about you?" I cackle as he makes up a name in the spot.

"Lyd! Did you just make a name up just now?"

"Maybe. Why Lyd?"

"Why Bob?"

"Touche."
