"Just one more stop", he muttered under his breath.

One more stop till the next station and he can run off home. One more stop till he can charge his 11% phone.
One more stop till he can talk to her.

"Come on, come on!", he urges the train to go faster.

Having a phone with a poorly managed battery health is the worst that could happen when your significant other needs you. She was just alone. She needed him to accompany her through the night.

"Why the hell did I even worked somewhere so far!", he curses.

The train arrives at the station and he dashes out. He skipped down the stairs almost falling to his knees. Ran to the exit.

But just as he crosses the road, a bright glimmering light shines over him.

"A bus?", he said.

And all of the sudden, for a moment, a cold breeze hits him.

Laying on the ground.

Bleeding.

Gushing out.

"Huh, I think I should've listened to her. She can wait. I'm sorry my love. I guess not tonight."

A text.

"Are you home yet?"

"Soon, sayang. I'll be home."
