Desolate

Tin man,

I feel so empty inside.
Unknown to me are all the reasons why.

My heart is surely broken.
Does it even still beat?
I hold it out for you to take.
It's yours, if you want to keep.

I know it's been ripped, torn all apart.
stitched and glued back together at the seams.
I did my best to repair it, after all the schemes.

It's not the way it was before.
I had to pick it up from the floor.
It's only brought me misery.
It's no longer what I need.

It's forgotten how to love.
It doesn't remember how to trust.
I'll warn you of all now, it's delicate.
I'm not sure if you can unbreak it.

It's surely filled with scars
But I'll trade you for your armor
And you can keep my heart.
