What i want to do?

A tingling wave of nen energy washed over my body, its healing power soothing my injuries and revitalizing my spirit. My gaze fell upon my now-tattered shirt, a result of the intense battle I had just endured. "Buy me a new one," I casually remarked, glancing over at him with a playful smirk.

He rose to his feet, brushing off the dirt from his impeccable suit, but an air of wariness lingered in his expression. "I'll buy you a new shirt, provided you can convince Calixto and Elowen to follow Kurapika's lead and avoid putting their lives in jeopardy during the upcoming arc," he proposed cautiously.

The thought of convincing my friends to make such a life-altering decision weighed heavily on my mind. "If that's even possible," I replied, acknowledging the challenge that lay ahead.

His gaze shifted towards the shimmering skyline of Yorknew City before us, contemplating the events that had transpired. "Your missing hunter's plan wasn't half bad," he admitted, surprising me with his approval.

A glance was exchanged between us, and a mysterious smile danced on his lips. "I already know where they are," he stated casually, his gaze met mine and hardened.

"Just keep them safe," he urged me, a mixture of concern and trust in his voice.

In a flash of movement, he vanished, leaving only a gust of wind as a remnant of his presence.

"He could've totally killed me just now," I said as my body finally relaxed.

He could've, but he didn't.

Instead, he left me with more questions that I had yet to think of.

What exactly was I going to do after the known events ended?

...

I stood calmly atop a window sill, my keen eyes spotting the two twins, Calixto and Elowen, attempting to hide. As they prepared to flee, I materialized beside them in a dazzling display of speed.

"Now, now, there's no need to run," I assured them gently, recognizing the flicker of doubt in their gaze—an expression I hadn't witnessed in a long while.

"Never seen you guys give me that look before, not for a good long while," I remarked, memories of our close bond resurfacing.

"El, Cally," I called out to them, but their fear held them motionless in my presence.

"Do what you want," I encouraged, granting them the freedom to act as they saw fit. Before they could object, they quickly grasped the significance of my words.

"What?" Calixto inquired warily, his eyes locking with mine, searching for any ulterior motives.

"You heard me. Do what you want," I reiterated, offering no further explanation. I wanted to leave them time to contemplate their choices, so, I departed before they could even process the words I had uttered.

...

The energy around Gon surged, his nen escalating to a feverish pitch, shattering the barriers that restrained us.

"Gon!" I called out urgently, snapping him back to reality. He fortified the nen around his arms, breaking free from the confines of our imprisonment, his frustration evident as he exclaimed, "We have to rescue Yoru!"

I zapped the gigantic hole that had been made further gathering the attention off the citizens that were just below us.

"What the heck do you think chasing after him will do??" Gon seemed to ignore all reasoning instead charging towards me in preparation to engage in combat.

"Offbrand chain jail!" a voice called out, and in an instant, the lightning I had conjured dispersed.

Gon's face contorted as if on the verge of tears, his words barely coherent, expressing relief at the sight before him.

"Yoru!? I'm sure that man said he'd..." I trailed off, momentarily disgusted at myself for entertaining the notion of Yoru's demise. "Killua, Gon. What the heck is going on!?"

Gon attempted to explain, but Yoru quickly assessed the situation, arriving at a conclusion. "You two are fighting over me?" he said with an air of surprise, his cocky grin somehow managing to irk me.

"How...?" I couldn't help but wonder how Yoru managed to escape from a zodiac-level hunter like Chantz.

"You're alive!" Gon's jubilant expression spoke volumes.

Yoru nodded, stepping into the debris-laden apartment complex, his gaze scanning our surroundings. "I'll pay," he asserted confidently, his hand ruffling his crimson hair before he slapped his own cheek with determination.

I had no intention of pressing him for an explanation about how he managed to escape the hunter. "We promised we'd meet Leorio. Tomorrow's the day. We'll get the twins and meet up with him," Yoru stated decisively, his eyes flitting between me and Gon.

At this point I had no intention of even planning to ask him how he got away from the hunter.

"We promised we'd see Leorio. Tomorrow's the day. We'll get the twins and meet up with him." Yoru said quickly looking between me and Gon.

"Hold on, won't we be leading that crazy guy to our friends!?" I interjected, concerned for their safety.

Yoru's gaze held an unwavering certainty that I couldn't doubt. "Alright then."

"September 1st, Yorknew Market Place," Yoru declared, the image of our upcoming reunion vivid in his mind.

"I'm getting the chills," he confessed.

"Same! I can't wait to see them!" Gon chimed in, sharing Yoru's excitement.

"Think Leorio will have learned nen by then?" Yoru teased, his eyes hinting at the playful jests he had in store for our friend if Leorio hadn't mastered nen yet.

"I doubt it," I instantly expressed my skepticism, doubting Leorio's ability to achieve such mastery in such a short time.

"I hope Leorio's accomplished his goals," Gon earnestly said, revealing his genuine concern for our friend.

Yoru couldn't resist poking fun at Leorio once more, earning a chuckle from me.

These past few months had me stressed. It's been a while since we could laugh without worry or constraint.

I didn't want this moment to end.

Sooner or later, we would have to part ways. Gon would meet his father, Yoru would avenge his clan along side Kurapika, Leorio would become a doctor. They would all fulfill their destinies, and they would be happy.

But what about me?

What did I have to look forward to?

What did I have to live for?

I felt a pang of guilt and shame in my heart. I wanted them to be happy, of course I did. They deserved it more than anyone else. They were my friends, my family.

But they were also my everything.

And without them, I would be nothing.

I would be alone.

And some sick part of me didn't want that to happen.

But even so.

I decided to enjoy these moments while they lasted.

To treasure every smile,

Every laugh,

Every hug,

Every word.

To make the most of our time together,

Before it ran out.

Because I knew,

That no matter what,

I would never forget them.

And I hoped,

That they would never forget me either.
