The so called "mission"

Pete's POV

I just came from the toilet. Sh*t I almost peed into my pants earlier. Khun Noo was giving us a hard time. He wouldn't budge from his room, we had to talk him out of it. This day is very important and he just had to get upset with how the drama he was watching ended up. It took us a long time convincing him but we succeeded in the end. We agreed to go partying tomorrow at Yok's bar just to make him agree.

As I was about to go towards the elevator I noticed something strange as I looked towards the direction of the newbies.

Are they seeing something or someone scary? They're all tensed.

[Smack] [punch]

That was loud!? Are they fighting? Shia! This can't be.. I'll take a look.

As I made my way towards the commotion. I saw him.

It was Khun Vegas. Sh*t. This is not good.

"Why don't you bow? Don't you guys respect the minor family?" I heard him ask the newbie with a cold voice. Oh God I should save this guys life.

I grabbed the head of the new bodyguard he just slapped and punched. I made the newbie bow down to Khun Vegas.

Khun Vegas looked at me.

"I'm sorry Khun Vegas ...they are just new and arrogant.. they are still in the process of training..please forgive them on being disrespectful." I said politely while bowing to him. Hoping his anger would subside. Please if there are any gods or any powerful being please shower Khun Vegas with calmness and mercy.

I've been also chanting prayers in my head wishing it would be heard by anyone up there. Save us.

"Hia!..father has been looking for you..why are you still down there?" A voice coming from upstairs called him. That must be Khun Macau.

"Haaa...train them properly Pete..or else you might have to look for a new batch again. Recruiting them is hard these days. Even I get a headache." He said. I looked up to him. He smiled at me. And looked at the newbies with cold eyes.

"Yes Khun... thank you for your mercy" i said to him and bowed again.

He just rubbed my head in response. And went upstairs.

What the heck?! Why did he do that? Do I look like a kid to him?

I turned to look at the newbies and glared at them.

"Be thankful that Khun Vegas is in a good mood today or else all of you would have died right at the spot where you are standing!" I said with an angry tone. These guys are lucky enough to be at Khun Vegas' mercy.

I gave them an earful so that they would know better than to not act like this the next time.

After a while I went upstairs. And saw Khun Noo storming out of the conference room. This master of mine did something again. Was he kicked out again by Khun Korn?

"Ai Pete! Where have you been? Let's go!" He said while dragging me by the hand. Pol and Arm are running behind him.

"Where to Khun Noo?? Aren't we supposed to be inside?" I asked him. I'm confused.

"We are going to the nail shop right now! I need to get my nails done RIGHT NOW!." He said while shouting.

We were about to proceed downstairs but someone from the intercom called my name.

"Pete ...please standby outside the conference room." The voice said.

It was Phi Chan.

"Yes Phi.." I answered. "Khun Noo I cannot go with you guys. Phi Chan just told me to stand by outside the conference room." I told Khun Noo. Oh no he's mad.

"What?!!why??!!no! I'll talk to Father...wait for me here." He said. He was about to go there..but I stopped him.

"Khun Noo..you cannot do that..after I finish here I'll come to the store right away. And we'll party tonight at Yok's right? We'll have fun there until tomorrow morning. Naa...naaa...Khun Noo" I said to him while pleading.

"Okay since my Pete is acting cute I'll let you stay here..but be sure to come right away okay?!" He exclaimed.

"Yes Khun Noo.." I replied to him.

They went downstairs and left here outside the conference room.

It took hours...until I was called in by Phi Chan through the intercom.

"Pete come in now.." he said.

I went inside.

While I was inside I noticed Khun Kinn looked a little confused? As well as Porche...and the others just looked naturally calm... like for example the minor family... especially Khun Vegas...does he already know something? What am I even doing here?

As I was contemplating about my purpose here.

"Pete...I want you to take on a mission..." Khun Korn suddenly spoke up.

"Yes Khun Korn..may I know what the mission is about?" I inquired.

"We will discuss about that right now.." is what he said.

Okay? This might be a very important one.

"Our agenda for this mission is to investigate about the new mafia group that recently arrived here in Thailand..our intel said that these people recently moved here for a union with one of our largest business partners..which is the K Group." He said.

"I know that you want to sniff out their intentions..but Father aren't we too occupied with the Costello's? Shouldn't the K Group already know everything about them?" Khun Kinn asked.

Khun Kinn is right we're too occupied with that family right now to even care about the newcomers. Even though they might be a threat in the future.

"Let me finish Kinn ...the K Group don't know everything about them... I think they know them on the surface only because the intel says otherwise...the reason why we need to investigate about them is that they are connected with the Costello's...the newcomers are affiliated with them." Khun Korn said.

What the heck? That family is nuts! They are affiliated everywhere!

"Before we proceed are you up for the task Pete?" Khun Korn asked me.

"YES Khun Korn.... I accept the the mission.." I answered enthusiastically.

"And one more thing... you'll have a partner in this mission.." he said.

"May I ask who is it Khun?" I asked again.

"Vegas....will be your partner" he answered.

Hmmm...this will be interesting..Vegas and Pete together on a mission...
