just as expected, the adoption process was hell, especially for yoongi. one thing about yoongi is that he got overwhelmed easily which sometimes made things harder.
it had been a month since they decided to proceed with adopting and there was so much work to be done. there were constant emails about submitting paperwork, signing it, meetings, home inspection, hell.
as you can imagine, after one month, yoongi was burnt out. he fell into shutdown for the first time in a while.
he was extremely tired, he couldn't get up from bed and everything felt like too much. taehyung understood because the process was tiring.
"hey love, do you want some food?" he asked, yoongi shook his head, curling up in fetal position. his head hurt too.
"let's try again at dinner time, okay?" he asked, yoongi nodded, clutching his stuffed frog.

"what's yoongi doing?" ji-ho asked while they ate, taehyung hummed as he figured out how to explain to the boy what a shutdown was.
"well, he's experiencing a shut down. what do you do when you're stressed out?" taehyung asked, "i usually watch youtube videos or play games but that's not much different from my daily life" he chuckled, taehyung smiled, "ah okay, basically, when yoongi gets really really stressed out, he shuts down. kind of like a computer when you overuse it. when yoongi experiences this, it's a lot. he feels fatigued, sensory sensitivity, physical pain, headaches, and sometimes is nonverbal" he explained, the boy hummed.
"so what is he doing right now?" ji-ho asked, "he's sleeping or staring out into space" he said, "oh, what can we do to help?"
"kind of nothing? it's just a matter that he rests and takes care of himself" taehyung said, not wanting to pressure the boy.
"ah okay" he said, taehyung and ji-ho talked about other things as they ate.
